You aren't strong enough bro.

What mods are you using?
Percival Sep 20, 2018 @ 8:53am
Vanilla run, level 52, trying to socket all my armor with fire but I'm still getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I don’t think they are weak to fire

That's why I said my armor, It'll protect me from fire based attacks.

Armor doesn't really help in the later levels. You should prefer items giving you health, damage reduction ; as well as dodging their shots when you can.

Farm: Act 1, Temple Steppes, Water Temple, General Grell to collect Eyes of Grell.

It's a long and boring process however combined with double socket Items there is no equal among defensive options against all of the game's foes.

Walk from Temple Steppes to Path of Honored to Crow's Pass to the Large Snowy Area then walk back to reset the Temple or make a Lan game to reset instantly.

He does not have to farm. He can just buy/equip whatever gear with missile reflection, -x% to all damage taken, +300ish health.. Shields help a lot too.

The key is to know that armor is mostly useless. Once you know that, you can choose better which gear you take

Try to look in the vendors for a shield that has chance to reflect missiles back at the enemies.
Alternatively invest in defensive skills.
If you are just playing on casual you should not need to farm for any limoanys or eyes of grell.

What you can do is pop a HP pot the instant you get hit to allow it to start regen the second you start taking damage instead of when you are low giving you enough time to take them out.

Its not secret that dwarven battle turrets are a bit overtuned just like zealots are in the original game but can easily be solved by reflect missile items : )

Whats your gear like? Does it have Life on it? What class are you playing?

I had trouble with my first playthrough on vanilla with an embermage, they would melt me. I finally got a good shield and my block up to 75%, then I added some more HP, about 14k now. The real survival came with the shield though. changed everything.

Because DWAAAARVEN engineering is the best.
Embermages are squishy, and poor in the beginning. The harder class to play compared to the melee fighters. But at end game, those spells are so beautifooool.

Imo, armour is as important as shield, just that mage armour is a laugh so best emphasize as many defensive attribute on the armour as possible.

I would like to add - slot a few of those hp regen blood gems.

Watch where you stand too. Those vents spewing fire actually do spew fire. And in the heat of battle, you may not notice you are standing on one.

Even on Casual, Vitality is an important thing to up.

Turrets deal physical damage. You need more health or kill them faster with long range spell. Drink potions.
Use a shield/

Only if you use a shield! If you don't use a shield, Vitality is not worth investing into. If you are concerned about survivability, Dexterity is much more helpful ; but usually it's better to just upgrade your damage, so that you can kill them before they do.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that. A lot of beginners play TL2 as if it was a roguelike, barely drinking any potions. Health potions are meant to be spammed ; you find enough on the ground to do so. Just spam them.

Vitality increases Health (3,5 hp per point) and all armor by a direct percentage.
