What mods are you using?
Farm: Act 1, Temple Steppes, Water Temple, General Grell to collect Eyes of Grell.
It's a long and boring process however combined with double socket Items there is no equal among defensive options against all of the game's foes.
Walk from Temple Steppes to Path of Honored to Crow's Pass to the Large Snowy Area then walk back to reset the Temple or make a Lan game to reset instantly.
The key is to know that armor is mostly useless. Once you know that, you can choose better which gear you take
Alternatively invest in defensive skills.
If you are just playing on casual you should not need to farm for any limoanys or eyes of grell.
What you can do is pop a HP pot the instant you get hit to allow it to start regen the second you start taking damage instead of when you are low giving you enough time to take them out.
Its not secret that dwarven battle turrets are a bit overtuned just like zealots are in the original game but can easily be solved by reflect missile items : )
Imo, armour is as important as shield, just that mage armour is a laugh so best emphasize as many defensive attribute on the armour as possible.
I would like to add - slot a few of those hp regen blood gems.
Watch where you stand too. Those vents spewing fire actually do spew fire. And in the heat of battle, you may not notice you are standing on one.
Turrets deal physical damage. You need more health or kill them faster with long range spell. Drink potions.
Use a shield/
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that. A lot of beginners play TL2 as if it was a roguelike, barely drinking any potions. Health potions are meant to be spammed ; you find enough on the ground to do so. Just spam them.
