N00b question, but ... about finding ember

I've searched the knowledge base and can't find a simple answer to this, yet.
Is there a way to find ember? I want to try transmuting but rarely find ember.
I assume it involves 'farming' some level or mine. But a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

Ember specks, chips, shards, etc. drop just like gold or items. I don't know any specific strategy to get it from any unusual source. The normal elements will just drop, it does seem harder to find blood, iron and void. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the drop rate is affected by your magic find stat.

The easiest way to buy Ember is to unlock the Mapworks and have Minehead (Act 4 Town) open.

Then just walk into the Portal that leads to the Mapworks directly (not the all purpose one) then use the Mapworks Portal to get back to Imperial Camp (Act 3 Town) and then use the door to enter the Minehead again which should reset the Ember Vendors in both Act 3 and 4.

Could also just start a Lan game multiple times to reset the Ember Vendors easily if the above conditions have yet to be unlocked.

Just walking between act 3 and 4 is enough. If you have gold to burn you can buy the junk embers and transmute them into new random ones.
