Berserker companion to Frost mage
Hi, my wife and I are finally playing over LAN with brand new characters. I am going to develop a Frost mage while she's playing a Berserker. Any idea on the best Berserker build to go with a frost mage? She's a bit less proficient than I, so I am looking for something that doesn't demand an overly complex game style.

All help appreciated! :steamhappy:

i played with my girlfriend some month ago, too. It was a lot of fun to try out different builds together and i would tell you, to do the same: try to talk with her about what you could do and what would make sense, its much more fun than giving her a skill guide :)

Ranged Skills are an absolute must have if an easy combat style is desired that maintains survival, damage and support from a distance away from foes.

Berserkers have Skills from the Shadow and Tundra Trees to help with that.

Try to avoid Skills that require the Weapon itself to attack or anything that mentions requiring a Melee Weapon in order to function.
For an easy build only choose attacks that rely on a Skill or activate on Critical.

Yet do invest into the Blood Hunger passive from the Hunter Tree which will heal every time a Critical occurs. Howl is another good skill for controlling crowds.

The first and second Skills (Shadow Burst and Wolf Shade) in the Shadow Tree also heal the Player.

Red Wolf and Shatter Storm are good passives to invest for this build.

One point in the Frost Phase Skill in the Tundra Tree is good for escape.

Avoid:
Storm Claw,
Shadow Bind,
Northern Rage,
and Chain Snare
as these Skills favor close range and most of them require Melee Weapons to activate.

For Stats:

Don't bother with Dexterity as the Berserker Charge Bar covers this need already.

Vitality doesn't really help much and there are much better defense options greater than Shield Blocking or minor boosts to Armor and Health in any case Items give better Affixes.

That means invest in Strength and Focus.

Whenever possible if Boris the Stat Enchanter or any other Enchanter is found then upgrade Items with their boosts.

When "Health Steal" and "Mana Steal" are found then use it with a Ranged Weapon.

When "All Less Damage Taken" and "+Max Health" are found then equip those Items.

"% Chance Missile Reflect" is also good to have as some blue tier Shields can carry 30%.

I think focus is meanless

It depends on the combat Skills chosen.

If they rely on Dps and if the Weapon has no Elemental Damage then Focus is only good to increase Max Mana which would be better boosted by Items in this case.
