Only if using a Shield.
"Eye of Grell" and "Skull of Limony" give " 3-5% All Damage Reduction" which outclasses Armor +% and + Max Health in Torchlight 2 defense "meta".
So just go Dexterity, Strength, or Focus.
Skull of Riechliu? +1540 Max Health per skull socketed?
Some gear sets give some health boosts but that's the best I can think of.
Dex is needed primarily for meeting weapon requirements. Best weapons usually need ~500 Dex. Level req for those is 101, while the cap is 100 so, having your Dex this high is a must if you plan to use these legendaries. 1000 Str is a goal if your primary damage source is physical damage/weapon-DPS-based abilities. If the damage is dealt by spell procs mainly (spelltrigger build) or by non-weapon-DPS-based abilities, then everything should be pumped into Focus (and Dexterity).
Most of these stats will be echieved via items/enchantments, still it is better to increase your primary damage and item requirement stats than anything else.
Vitality is useless, as it is much better to directly increase health. Same thing is the case for mana and focus (if it isn't your damage stat).
364 Dexterity is the only amount required for the level 105 Dominion Set...
so the rest can be placed into the Strength stat to make it easier when
trying to gain random enchantments from "Boris" since trying to buy
3 enchants of a single stat can be very annoying.
I thought Strength only boosted the DPS power and Critical power?
Physical damage is considered a type of Focus damage along with the Elemental damages if I remember correctly.
As long as the skill attack requires DPS then it doesn't matter what type of damage it ends up dealing since it relies on Strength anyway.
