I am sorta new to torchlight 2 mods but when it says the mod is outdated does it matter? or does it mean the mod is broken?

It only means that Runic added official Asian Language support recently and does not affect mods.

Runic is smart enough to know that we don't want our mods broken so they keep updates to a minimum.

Most mods are not broken.

They will run- it's just stating that Runic added Language support.

No what i mean is till how old can the mod be without being broken to the current version of the game. Like for example I had one mod that said torch light 2 version 1.0.2.6, which didnt work for me anymore.

I see.

Version 1.25.5.6 is the latest Steam version for Torchlight.

Mods that were made during version 1.24.0.0 or even 1.23.0.0 should work.

Choose 1 or 2 large mod packs then choose a dungeon mod then a weapon mod then 2 class pack mods and at the top place some Drop and Skill Rate mods. That's a general guide that usually works and if more mods are made by the same author then the better and less buggy the game will be.

I recommend UI ESOBC, Warbounds, Dungeon Challenge Remod, Variant Classes and even Skills Expansion.

Feel free to ask if you need more specific info like whether the LAO III design of requiring more stats for gear is a good choice and whether you want one of it's secondary mod extensions.

There's also LAO 2.0 Chaos which pairs well with Torchfun Part 1 and 2x Points mods.

Skills Expansion may not work with other mod packs and Darkthan Class Packs only work with themselves (1 or 2 separately and without other class packs) it seems.

Variant is a very good Class Pack to choose and gives many classes for it's size.

Darkthan makes very good classes however and should be considered.

There is also FEP+ now authored by Viz and can be downloaded from the Torch Modder Forums (links to Runic Games Fansite Forums) along with his new Variant Class Update that includes flamethrower and minigun weapons.

These particular versions are being worked so that FEP+ and Variant will hopefully work together and give you tons of wonderful class, weapon and gear options.
