Yeah. I found that, but I think you're right. The standard classes use their vanilla trees.
I urged Salan to make a rollback, as I recommend to play with the 1212 patch
http://synergiesmod.com/patchNotes.php?v=1212
Since Salan started buffing the Embermage things started to went south in terms of balance. Paladin rework isn't finished and buggy as hell with 1/3 of the skills not working. Embermage is way too OP in current Synergies.
However in 1212 balance is alright
I've been out of the loop for this game for a long time. What changes were made to the Embermage in Synergies to make it so OP?
http://www.synergiesmod.com/patchNotes.php?v=1311
The idea that Salan had behind all this, is that he wanted to buff all the vanilla classes one by one. The problem is that he left his work unfinished, leaving the MOD in an unbalanced state in terms of classes
Ah well.
But Synergies is balanced for the classes you cited though! It's only Embermage that is ridiculously OP, and Paladin who is hardly playable. For all the other classes you will have a great time playing Synergies
