The embermage and the Outlander are the most fragile of the classes, but get more ranged skills and good AoE damage, also got the best movement skills in the game for scaping. So both tend to be a on the Glass Cannon style, with still a lot of diversity in skills. specially the outlander getting some awesome spells and some cool summons, but don't expect to make a viable tank embermage or tank outlander.
The berserker is a masive melee dps dealer, hitting fast and focusing on life steal, armor penetration and crits. Still a lot of variety on the skills, geting some auras, summons and ranged skills, but again don't expect to build a viable ranged berserker or a heavy tank.
And last the Engineer, If you want to go around with heavy two-handed weapons making things explode with damage skills this is your class, if you want to wield a cannon and run around shooting it while using robots to do your dirty work, this is your class, or if you want to build a Sword & Board tank, this is your class.
I have beaten the game with all the classes, and all are viable, you just need to ajust your playstyle to the class or find the class that fits your playstyle to have fun.
If you want to check all the skills of every class you can check them in the skill calculator here: http://tidbi.ru/eng/tindex.html maybe that will tell you more about what class to choose.
