Magic is OP
There are just too many coins to buy infinite spells/potions
Chapter 1 was so tense but now I kinda lost the motivation to play further
Does it get any more challenging in Chapter 3 ?

There's definitely a limit on what you can buy per night.

I don't know, I've had like >10 summon spells + as much fire streams so I could just spam the fire while the armor guys tanked the damage no boss could do anything against that

Chapter 3 is a huge jump in difficulty.

You probably won't find enough resources to do magic only in chapter 3/4. I'd recommend making a second gear set for projectiles as well, since there is no limit on buying bullets/fire jars. The merchant won't sell you bullets after you have 18 in your inventory, but you can always come back after using them. Fire jars are only limited by your amount of empty jars, which can be bought infinitely from other merchants.

The difficulty definitely never gets back up to what it was in the beginning. Magic and projectiles just make you far too strong for anything the game can throw at you. You'll only start seeing a harder difficulty once you reach NG+ and grab the book of burdens to put the game on hard mode.

You can buy infinite.
The game has a max amount of magic you can have at once but when you use it the shop has stuff available again.

I've found it's not too threatening due to the anti-one shot mechanic. It always gives enough time to heal before taking another shot and always triggers when you're not on 1 health.

I'm considering taking all the upgrade points out of health and throwing them into damage since having 200+ health only means I can take 1 more hit from the stronger enemies before going into danger.

The limit right now is actually not 18 bullets, but I think that is what the developer intended.

For some reason the merchant only counts the bullets that are not loaded into the gun. You can check this by having 6/0 (6 loaded, no extra bullets) and then talk to the merchant. The store will state that you have 0 bullets.

You can actually get a total of 29 (6 loaded, 23 extra) bullets depending on how many extra bullets you have when you talk to the merchant.

Talk to the merchant when you have a fully loaded gun and no spare bullets. Buy the maximum of 18 bullets. You now have 6/18. Fire a single round and reload so that you have 6/17. Talk to the merchant again and notice that you can buy another 6 bullets. You now have 6/23.
