It is very possible (if you know what your doing and play it very safe) to go through the entire game without dying. that is what I'm currently doing XD just reached chp.3 with no deaths XDD
the good is that enemies health bars stay the way they are if you hit them and run away. the also STAY dead once u kill them, unless you end up dying and then they ALL respawn again. if you end up never dying and killing everything, you are able to explore to your leisure.
edit: i hate rouguelite too... so i went in the mindset of NOT dying. its possible, but very frustrating if you do not know what your doing. the game tells you its okay to die, but when you have a REALLY good stack of items and you just up and lose it... man thats a waste of time in my book. thus... i went in with the sole purpose of not dying. im at like 11hrs in...? thats how i slow I am lol with making sure not to die
And like the previous poster says, it's pretty easy to avoid death. Healing items are in abundance if you craft and search everywhere, and there seems to be a deaths door mechanic where you will always survive on 1HP from what would've been the first killing blow. I'm at chapter 2 and feel like just dying to actually experience the actual mechanics a bit.
Bosses stay dead, key items are kept, stats from level ups and all progress in the story stays.
You can save more items than you ever need. You keep all armour , all item upgrade materials(not all offerings) and any weapon you upgrade. On top of that certain items you keep not matter what and you can eventually buy hagsacks that give you certain items when you die.
Finally all boss rooms have a candle you can light that allows you to restart the fight as many times as you want.
Thank you very much. You have answered all of my concerns going in. This is the info that needs to be on the store page.
