Is there a good way to lure enemies out of rooms?
I know some ways like using fireworks or guns, but don't really wanna waste those.

I thought pottery shards would work cause it says audible in the nearby room.

Some rooms have bells you can ring. Alsop if you have the key to the grand father clocks you can set them to ding which will lure all the enemies in the area. I discovered this by accident. A horrible, bloody accident.

another way is to duck into the room, let them see you, then leave the room waiting for them to follow you into the hall. Hide from them then run back to the room when they pass by. Otherwise I am not sure

Fireworks, the whip, a gun (later on) all attract enemies that can move rooms. Some however are too big or lack the mobility to do so.

Running in front of a door can lure stuff out.

they seem very selective when they wanna come out, even using the fireworks. Which has made trying to use the door hex a pain.

Also lemme piggyback this thread and ask a similar question, how do you get any usefulness out of the doll item? I tried one time running by an open door and had the doll to the left and I was hiding under a table to the right and the enemy just skipped over the doll and went straight to me

If I remember correctly, if an enemy sees a doll in front of a closed cupboard , they'll check the cupboard. It doesn't work as well if the enemy is actively looking for you. What you wanna do is sneakily hex cupboard door, leave room, sneakily place doll in front of cupboard, leave room. Now the enemy should trigger the trap.

I usually run back and forth near doorways until it draws out the enemy, keep in mind not to do it in front of the door for when the trap goes off.
