Report a translation problem
The puzzle references numbers.
Count letters for each family member's Latin sentence.
"The son studied his Latin alphabet dutifully. Father: Two precious children in his heart." If you look at the father's inscription:
AD ASTRA PER ASPERA so the first letter is D (because of “TWO”)
But yeah, its confusing some additional clue would be nice. The letters have symbols and that visual information reading the text of the crypt confuse a little.
I swear I tried that first. When ti didn't work I fell down the rabbit hole. I looked up the translations (which are not what they say in the clue) Then I figured maybe it was how many of each letter appears in each text for the family members. When that didn't work I added Peter's count into it...and now I have so many cryptic notes and latin phrases on my desk that if I die down here my family will think I was in a cult!
