Making gold?
Raids don't seem to reward much, Tavern can't be rebuilt it seems, and doesn't bring much in, I got to the point where I was forced to unlock up to floor 5 and each floor has a tax soo my income is having trouble keeping up, I sell materials/resources when I can just doesn't seem to give much. How are we supposed to make enough gold to stay above?

Make sure you can serve all the guest fast enough and have enough table for them, you get to unlock a better bar later that has two barkeep to help. Click on the tavern and you will see how much queue you have to put this in context. I have my Tavern occupying a third of the first floor with a lot of tables and amenities to attract customers and have not cash flow issue, I have more than 20,000 on hand usually.

As sais by Thugjitsu, tavern is an incredible source of revenue. Try to improve it as much as you can. Tho raid revenue are really insufficient to me.

Add more tavern bars, more seating and you'll see your revenues increase. Having raids that run also gives you a head start.

Workshops and tavern. Get a number of dwarfs in their own workshop to make weapons and a tool shop for goblins. Have plenty of storage shelves so you can get a large number of items stock piles for sale.

Just click on the tavern and start expading walls. At one point if you want a tarvern floor, sell your tavern first, and then rebuild it on your desired floor. More bars means more income, so get wild

Turn the whole bottom floor into a tavern. Problem solved.

I like the way you set this up - very elegant placement of the bars and food stations.

Just finished the campaign and yes the tavern alone solves your whole gold problems. Just some ingame numbers:
-6k weekly costs for 210 minions, 7 floors and tavern
+10k to +12k weekly tavern income

Could be a bit higher, i only unlocked 5 barrel types so far.

The tavern seems to max out at 150 customers (~38x 4 person tables) and you need about 4 phenomenal bars to keep the waiting list in the 0-10 area. This takes about 40-50% of the first floor in space.

I find the tavern as the main source of income a bit funny solution keeping in mind this is a dungeon master game and not a tavern one

The best source of gold is selling resources. Get to 1000 stockpile of weapons, tools, magic, intel. Then the month you get 1000 (or a time where it's valued high), you sell everything.

The reason for this is the "stock market" (nascark). If you don't sale anything, the price goes up. The longer you can go without selling anything, the more the price goes up.

Stockpile ressources and regularly check for good prices. There's also an artefact that doubles prices. You can make a few 10k every time you sell.

Tavern makes me > 7000 per week.

Raids into your dungeon give money depending on the level of raiders, so don't activate the artefact that makes them lvl 1. On higher levels, a raid can easily bring 15k.

Doing raid isn't really just about gold you earn at the moment, it can also be about gold you earn once they retaliate. Killing (not jailing) their minions once they attack you gives more and more gold (I'm getting closer and closer to 10K gold per incursion)

I rebuild a tavern on half of second floor - I earn like 80k now but when I try to rebuild it - dungeon boss get upset and finish my game somehow xD
