Minions leaving
Hey there !
Been playing the campaign for a few hours now and I'm having fun so far.
I'm juste a bit confused about something : Some of my minions keep leaving (especially the elven maids) because their needs were not satisfied.

I have 22 minions total, a dorm with 16 beds (4 for dwarves), a kitchen with 3 cooks (human, troll, elf) and full food shelves, a recreation room, 2 bathrooms (10 showers, 10 toilets), a treasure room with 3 bankers, a place where they can eat with 16 sitting spots (4 for dwarves)...

I feel like I have everything necessary to satisfy the needs of anyone and still, they keep leaving, one or two per decade.

Since the reason for leaving is too generic, I can't tell which needs were specificaly not met, and unless I didn't see it, I can't see the happiness of every minion in the minion's list, therefore I can't easily track their happiness level and realise someone is not appy when he/she leaves.

What am I missing please, how do I keep people from leaving ?

I have the same exact problem, and pretty much the same setup as you, give or take a couple of showers and toilets. At the very least if the game could be more specific about what exactly caused the employee to quit it would be immensely helpful.

I got all rooms to at least one star rating, and yet I keep loosing workers for the "unmet needs".
I just clicked on my chef who quit, and the only expectation he has is 1 Star, so I have no idea why he left. (The "sad face, happy face" icon is almost empty, so I'm guessing it has something to do with that? but I dont understand what would make that icon go up in this case.

Edit: I can also add that I keep loosing a few workers now and then because they dont get paid, witch is odd as I have a banker and gold. Wondering if the queue system is broken so they wait too long in the queue to the banker and get tired and just leave. *shrugs*

@forrestFox. Build multiple banks and hire multiple bankers that should fix your issue with them not being paid. Basically they get tired of waiting to be paid then leave.

It seems to be a pathing / AI issue. Even if you have all the necessary amenities, minions will just mindlessly run around and never actually use them. I can't play anymore simply because once you get a couple floors down, everything just breaks.

Yeah, the AI falls apart pretty quickly once you get to about four floors. I have all my stuff built on floors 1-5 but I am constantly losing guards due to desertion and my folks are always cmplaining about their needs no matter how many things I build for them. The AI just.... sucks.

Same problem there.
This is exactly what I expecded.... Like Keeper, or War of the Overworld, minions are just stupid.
They have all necessary to eat, sleep, entertained, etc... But they complained all the time for same things.
They just are too slow for go at the rest room, or go to eat etc...

A huge issue because i have now 2 floors, more 60 sbires, but this is a real problem to managed them.

When I played Keeper, that was required to build same rooms scattered on the level. But in this game, we are limited very fast to construct. So, I won't build 4 bedroom, or restroom in the same floor simply for satisfy minions, this is stupid. How am I supposed make my dungeon attractive if all floors are the same layout ?

I noticed that, the more we have minions, the more difficult it is to manage them.

And, the hugest black point, we CANNOT move them like similar games did...
Minions are disapointed ? Ok, so I can help them. I grab one of them, I place him on the good room... Oh, wait, we can't ! This is very bad thing.

Every 2 "decades", somes minions leave my dungeon, because they are not satisfied anymore : because they don't poop or eat. However, all rooms in the floors are so big and available for all.
It's really important to fix the AI because, on previous games, these details are very s.h.i.t.l.y, but there, this is amplified I find.

Apart from that, the game is on good way, and it's very fun to play ! But the main feature of the game (mangement of minions) is too approximate.

I'm curious if the AI/Pathing issues is because the devs designed it with big open hallways and the rooms being just small "islands" in those robust corridors? If you look at the steam store page screenshots of the example designs, often the rooms are stand alone structures, not even sharing a wall with the neighboring rooms. This would make sense then as to why AI/pathing is broken in my game and people are constantly quitting despite my having plenty of food/money/rooms to meet their needs.

Another interesting thing from the screenshots is that the entire floor appears to be capable of being built on. There are no unbreakable, unchangeable stone clumps on the screenshot floors. The lack of those walls might encourage me to have a cleaner design, but probably not, since dungeonbuilding games require a tower defense mentality of channeling enemies through chokepoints and not just letting them freely wander around like you see in the store page screenshots.
Minions all get paid at the same day and sometimes if you don't have enough banker/desk they will get tired of waiting and leave.

Also some improvements in the others rooms helps a lot, like hot water in the bathroom

Dunno if this is intended but the "fun" bar for each minions only decrease. If they don't have fun, the bar decrease and when they do have fun the bar stop decreasing. So it will always reach the end at some points. Leading them to leave saying they are bored. No matter how many chicken you have ln your dungeon since they often won't go due to AI pathing as it was sayd before. I believe the bar should increase when they have fun.

This is very unfortunate and game breaking, I'll come back in a week and hopefully they have patched minions leaving; even though they have restrooms, entertainment and breakroom right next to where they work but leave because they do not have those thing.

Same problem here.
My guards keep leaving. Last one because it's hungry, tired, and need the latrines.
Except that I have a loot of free beds and latrines!

Yeah, unfortunately the game is unplayable for me at this point. I advanced past where I started having the problem, and now it is just game breaking. Hopefully gets patched soon.

I think it may be related to the food that is available? Is there any way to understand how much food has been stored?

Different type of minnion have different need. Elves want clean place but green skin want dirty place.
Elves eat vegetable but green skin and dwarven want mean.

It's not a game issue, nor is it a pathfinding one. You just dont satify their need, simply because you put everyone in the same place when they should not.

Also, Dwarven should be put on a separate floor, because they are bothering everyone all the time. The game make it quite clear that they will lower everyone's moral all the time.

It's a management game, when things dont work you should assume that you are doing something wrong instead of thinking that the game has an issue.

There is a furniture for the kitchen where the minion store the food they cook, you can check it to see if you have enouth stock.
