Thoughts on completion of first game.
I always try to leave one of these somewhere in the hopes the devs get some feedback, and I thought I'd basically re-iterate what I sad in the review I just did.

The game has the same good voice and acting and humour as the RPG. It's fairly straight-forward. I completed everything on a single first playthrough (bar a couple of achievements that would have taken a lot of extra hours to bother to get); 32 hours is pretty good.

That said, by the time I'd finished, I seen everything and the sandbox appears to have the same map (or at least, the one I briefly looked at did), so I didn't feel a particular need to play more than the main campaign.

I personally didn't find it difficult, but perhaps my many hundreds of hours in games like Rimworld and DungeonKeeper et al made me plan better. I only had a handful of resignations (five, maybe, and some of those in the final grind for the last goal and achievments) and a couple of strikes and I don't think the Zangdar's patience bar ever left full.

By the end, I set up enough traps (and carefully laid routeways lined with columns to keep the incursion in them) that I only needed to worry about raids if they came in the main entrance at the exact moment my minions came from their own raid (which doesn't sound like it happens very often, but it cost me a reload and several minutes at the end as it killed the executioner I'd been so carefully trying to get to max rank...) Otherwise, the level 15 heores were a such a nightmare to kill (as my trops only went in piecemeal) that I tended to reload if the traps didn't kill them, (In fairness, there's a relic which caps their level at 1, but that seemed to be too easy.)

I found very little use for the prisons or capturing the enemy. Torturing victims doesn't really give you anything but prestige and I found I was building that up almost too fat for my liking, given the level unlocks and cost increases. (Though if I did it again, I'd build the tavern up much sooner to the point even that bottleneck would be trivialised.)

Overall, a decent game to while away a few tens of hours.
