Do guards get more health and such?
I'm recruiting lads at level 6 but they still just get bodied during incursions and seem to barely have any health. Anyone know how this works? :D

Don't bother, enemies can be lvl 10+ unlike your guards so, in the end, they will be slaughtered and you will rely on the number.

Combine guards with traps like i just wrote in another thread and you will be fine:
Traps are very useful but you have to pay attention to some mechanics:
- first money, build out tavern with 150 seats and depending on your unlocks 10 small bars up to 5 phenomal bars to get 10-17k gold/week), this can be done after the first 2-3 campaign missions already
- get the relic with 100% attacker trap triggering and minion immunity or otherweise cleaner minions will get constantly killed
- alarm trap summons guards from the NEXT guardroom (build 1-2 big guardrooms with ~40 guards each in it, i ran into the error to build 15 people rooms on every floor and they just got slaughtered)
- put an alarm trap near every stair case to summon the next guard room if the first guard group got slaughtered (see point above and build big guard rooms)
- try to make wall off areas on the levels with multiple entrances (level 6,7 and 2 or 3) to make a single kill zone
- put ~16 mines and 8-10 statue traps in front a door / killzone and put the alarm at a point where the highlighted area just touches the outer most traps, by doing that the enemies run into the first 2-3 layers of traps, setting off the last layer and then stops and the guards come rushing in

In my experience attackers with lvl~5 get instant killed by traps, lvl10 lose 50% hp and lvl15 get at least scratched 30% hp.

Wow, 40 guards per guard room? That just feels so excessive. I get it though. Do you just accept that they're going to die by the truck load every incursion?

Another thing to note; spies and spellcasters will also fight intruders. Spellcasters can do pretty decent damage but will drop fairly quickly so having an unending horde of incompetent guards to take hits for them will make it much easier to keep them alive long enough to rank up.

A game changing (and frankly really op) thing is a relic called "Award of Dungeon Beginner". Once installed in a reliquary, all the incursions will be level 1, making the defense quit trivial

I let you imagine being a lvl 1 incursion, activating the chicken alarm and getting charge by 15 greens skins lvl 7 to 9

Oh I don't have to imagine.. I feel like that is happening to my guards in the current game. I think I have put the game down until it gets a patch that fixes the AI though. It's just exhausting.
