This here is a Simulation game, like Sim City, where you simulate a dungeon where you have to balance income and make sure your employees don't go on strike.
Same, Ive been waiting for reviews, though none so far.
I'll be buying this eventually, I think as it left a good impression with me. Really nice visuals when running and smooth looking.
Bullfrog of course also made the Theme Hospital games and ex-Bullfrog employees were working on Startopia so that branch of the genre is of similar pedigree and inspiration and the fandoms usually overlap so even if it's not a clone or trying to be a DK spiritual sequel, you'll still feel some of that Bullfrog inspiration come through. It helps that this is also using the comic series for the background which roots it in humor.
There's clearly some Dungeon Keepers inspiration but it doesn't try to be a clone or sequel of it or pretend it is at any point. It's not deceiving at all that way. You don't even dig out rooms and tunnels underground like in DK. This is, again, more like Startopia and Theme Hospital where you use available open space to plan and manage and deal with emergencies and threats.
War For The Overworld, Dwelvers and Dungeons (especially 2 to 4) are more the attempts at a Dungeon Keepers spiritual sequel. The first Dungeons is very different to DK and the rest of the series. 2 onwards is probably more for DK fans and I think the latest one has done a very nice job of adding more upgrades and content to the game format. Those three are probably the best current bet at DK.
If you want a Bullfrog style inspired game though this game still works! Theme Hospital, Theme Park, Startopia and the rest were all excellent fun sim and management games with humor to avoid it getting too dull and repetitive and lets them have wild events and maps occur.
