Game Guide: How to Play
Dance Dash Starter Guide

Playing Area
Before starting the game, please make sure that the surrounding obstacles are cleared to allow enough space for the game.

Device Check
You should determine the binding position of the device according to your existing equipment
  • If you only have a controller and no tracker, please use the first method to strap the controller to your foot for playing.
  • If you have both controllers and trackers, please use the second method to hold the controllers and attach the trackers to your legs.

This game requires at least two controllers in order to play, if this is not the case, the game will not start. When you turn on the controller or tracker, the icon in the game will light up correspondingly so that you can check whether the device is turned on or not. At the same time, this game will automatically set the operation mode according to the number of devices, so if you use both joysticks and trackers to play the game, please make sure that all the devices are turned on in the start screen before entering the game.play the game.

Hand Note Setting
If you only have controllers or trackers, we will turn off the hand notes for you by default, if you force it on it may affect your gaming experience.

Game Pause
When you are playing with only the foot tracker, or with the controller attached to your feet, you can pause the game in the following steps.
  1. Look up to see the word "Pause" and a countdown will be triggered.
  2. Keep the pause indicator in view, when the countdown ends, the game will pause and you will hear a sound effect.
  3. After the game is paused, you can look down and operate the pause menu normally.

You can also trigger a pause by pressing the right stick of the Index controller while playing with the controller in your hand.Game Settings

Foot/Hand Note Judgment and Scoring:
Foot Notes
Two conditions are required for a foot note to hit:
  • The foot touches the note.
  • There is a stepping or moving action of the foot
Note: When the Easy Hits modifier is turned on, only touch is required.
Foot notes are evaluated using a scoring mechanism that mixes hit timing and hit accuracy:
  • The closer the hit position is to the judgment line, the higher the timing score is
  • The closer the hit position is to the center of the note, the higher the accuracy score is.
  • The game weights the timing and accuracy scores to obtain the final note rating.


Hand Notes
Hand notes require only a touch to hit.
For hand notes, only the accuracy score is used:
The closer to the center of the note the hand track crosses the note, the higher the score.


Judgment Line
In the game, there is a solid line on the ground at the center of the playing area in front of the center, this line is the beat line of the note, when the note is hit near this line, it will get a higher rating.
Therefore, players are advised to keep their position near the judgment line during the game.

Note combos and score multipliers
When a player hits notes consecutively without missing, the number of combos will begin to accumulate. At the same time, as the number of hits increases, the multiplier slots begin to fill up, and when the slots are full, the score multiplier increases.
The multiplier is divided into five levels: 1X, 2X, 4X, 6X, and 8X. Each level will be upgraded when it is fully recharged, and a MISS will result in a decrease of one level.

HP
At the beginning of the game, you will have half of your HP. Hitting a note will increase your HP, and missing a note will decrease your HP.
If the life value is reduced to 0, the song fails.
When the NoFail modifier is turned on, the life value is locked at half and does not change.


Traps and Obstacles
The game involves avoiding obstacles and traps.
If you step on or hit one, the Combo is interrupted and the multiplier is reduced. At the same time, HP is deducted.
It is important to note that the obstacles in this game are judged strictly, and any part of the head, hand, or foot that comes into contact with an obstacle will be judged as a hit.


Game Mode Modifiers
There are currently three mode modifiers in the game:
  • NO FAIL: Invincible mode, MISS will not deduct hit point.
  • INSTA FAIL: Sudden death mode, a single mistake will cause the song to fail.
  • EASY HITS: removes the stomping requirement for note hits, as long as the foot touches the note it counts as a hit. Turn this option on if you are having tracking problems or find notes hard to hit!


Shoe Position and Height Matching
In the song selection screen, if the difference between shoe orientation and actual foot feel is too much, use this button to refresh the height and shoe position for a better gameplay experience.
If you find the difference between the shoes and the foot orientation is too much during the game, you can refresh the shoes again in the pause screen.

Out of Bounds Tips
The game has a limited play area for safety and rhythmic reasons, and a series of cue effects are triggered when the player goes out of bounds:
  • The screen darkens and loses color
  • The music becomes muffled and fuzzy
  • An animation appears on the ground to indicate where to stand.
  • At the same time, warning text and a countdown will appear in front of the Highway, reminding the player to return to the area.
  • When the countdown ends, the game will be forced to pause to allow the player to reposition.
