Just for ♥♥♥♥ and giggles...
...how would real world weapons fare in the warhammer 40k universe?

Like... what effect would a normal bolter pistol on an M1 Abrahms tank? And what about a heavy automatic bolter?

Would a space marine squad survive a 50. cal armor piercing explosive bullet its? reapeatedly?

What about a maverick missile? or a nuclear explosion at 10 meters, 100 meters, and 1000 meters?

Theories? fan fictions? speculations?

According to the lore, an Astartes' bolter loaded with standard ammunition either shoots .75 cal or .998 cal armor piercing explosive ammunition therefore I'm assuming a Space Marine would survive a 50. cal armor piercing explosive bullet.

Edit : I'm not saying it can shoot both but rather that it's unclear which one it is in the lore.

Here's a video of some Astartes going at it agains the US military in ARMA 3. There's tons of videoes like this on youtube and it pretty much always goes as you'd expect. Should be noted that Storm Troopers from Star Wars tend to do slightly better. :god_happy:

Modern day anti-tank weapons would kill space marines given that their armour can be pierced and crushed by the natural non-metal weapons of tyranids. Anything less than that however is unlikely to do the trick. 50 cal would be of concern to a space marine if it hit a joint or weak point in its armour (which we have seen in lore be pierced by simple steel blades, or in one instance a wooden spear... lol). Nukes would evaporate space marines.

Bolters would be unlikely to be of concern to an Abrams given we have seen the effects of bolter rounds of natural objects. These are anti-infantry weapons, after all. Any marine anti-material weapon such as a plasma gun however would be a different story.

Ranged Tyranid bio-weapons shoot stuff like plasma and acid and their close range weapons that are effective against armor, like the bonesword, are imbued with psionic energy and whatnot.
