Since people like to experiment and play new builds (like, full curse, full-tank, full mage and e.t.c) and to get proper vessel you need to die-repeat-die (and god's favor is not like and infinite resource), why not add another mechanic like "call by name"... You pay 5(10?) favor and type the name of vessel you want to summon...
Reason - no need for death-repeat-reroll mechanic (yes, I do understand, that an idea is for people to adapt to what they get... like in gatcha games... but c'mon, it's a single player game... people want to experiment with what they like, not what they get)
Second - some moments in the game can be reaaaaaly (like REEEEEEEEEALY) weird... Example: Stun-immunity is vital (like "get it or die") to any melee builds on hard option, but not necessary at all for any range build..
So... Why not add option for pick vessel by it's name, so if you are stuck with a challenge (or just want to go some special build), you can just pick what you need right this moment, not adapt or reroll?
And, if it's still not an option, then why not let use names of just thouse, who you meet through pick... Like you got 10 deaths, means youalready lost 10 characters from the pool, but got info about 20 names... If you need one of them, just type the name (ok, maybe in-game list like logs... but I'm more fan of hardcore stuff like use your brans/notepad/pencil) and get it... It wouldn't let players to go full op-vessels from the start (like 3 blessing or 3 traumas), but give them more options to counter challenges if they've stucked + if they would like to play new builds, then would already got bigger pool of vessels to pick
To add a level of meta progressions, how about if whatever character we reach an ending with, becomes "unlocked".
At the start of a new game, we now have the option of selecting one of our "unlocked" characters instead of the usual 3.
I just really want to have the option of going through the game, deathless on a desired character. Instead of having to die into them. then play them.
Just a thought :)
Btw. @RussianMew tomorrows patch will add potion for stun immunity, which can also discover related talent.
In general most of the talents can be discovered through gameplay: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3295660201
He-he... Not like you can actually got stun CC from the talants (0,1% for hight-tier skill with big cd.... yeah)...
But thank you for this potion... It would not save thouse, who got Morana 1-2 reputation, but it's an epic addition =)
I hope you got enough money from the game to come back with new ideas for expansions, sequel or a new project, because you created something really new and funny (damn, would you believe few years ago, that your game would be better than the new(last) part of Dragon Age? That your team would knew players better than the whole Beware machine? ^_^ )
Hope you and your team would got a good rest!
We will see what the future holds. :--)
It was inspired by Morana follower event (when you got high enough reputation with her), when he ask you pick him as the next vessel
Since all characters here got their own believes, why not implement "followers" trait for everyone of them
Monks and clerics follows One-God, cultists follows Perun and e.t.c
Whole characters (not starting one) just split between all gods
1) If you got high enough reputation with this god, your character got bonuses (the higher reputation, the higher bonus)...
2) If dialogue option would increase or decrease reputation with "followed" god, it would be shown in dialogue (like your god gives you tips about their views on situation and you don't need to "guess" what choice would be right for you)
So people can "role-play" (like, if I am aiming to play full-chaos lunatic or saint-one, I would sure to pick cultist or soldier. knowing, that game would reward me for it)
