Character creation
I must admit, I was very unhappy to see that the game has preset characters, in fact that's typically something that would lead me to get an instant refund. How much of an impact do the negative traits have, and how specialized can I make my character? I REALLY don't like being forced to play a build I had no say in, especially when it comes with negative attributes that limit certain aspects of the build. I feel like this is a defining aspect of the game, otherwise it wouldn't exist. If the built in negatives had no impact, what purpose would they serve? Designing a proper character builder, with stat points and positive/negative traits where the player has to choose a certain number of each would be far more ideal. In the end the character doesn't feel like your own if you had no input in its design.

This is why all games put on the Steam market should be forced to have a demo.

Just my opinions, take it or leave it, but I'm leaning towards refund on this one unfortunately.

How it works is that whenever you die, you return from the underworld and inhabit a different character (or animal) on Earth. There are 60+ pre-made characters, each with their own story and talents.

Initial talents aren’t very important, as you will earn many talents during gameplay. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3295660201

Feel free to ask any other questions.
It's also fine if what is described is not your cup of tea.
"In the end the character doesn't feel like your own if you had no input in its design."

Yes, guess that's an idea of the game

You plaing not some Chosen one, but... It's a spoilers, and more explained through endinds

This is not a story about you* saving the world... It's a story about how you are used and how you use* others, to get what you want (or thouse, who use you)

Maybe devs would add what you want (the higher is your lvl, the more points to spend you got at creation)... But it definitely would ruin current* storytelling

Weird reason to refund the game, when you got story, challenge, worldbuilding, replayability and stable expanding of mechanics with each regular patch =)

Weird reason for you, I'm not you. People on Steam have a very difficult time understanding that not everyone is them.

I blame modern day society for trying to teach people (for manipulative purposes) that everyone is exactly the same in all ways.

Of course, we all have our preferences, and thank you for letting us know that you were disappointed by this. We should try to communicate the game's features more clearly.

To reduce the chances of confusion in the future, I just added this information to the FAQ thread.

Honestly I'm not really a big fan of the respawning part of the game either. It's a cool idea but feels like it just ends up making you suicide until you get something good and I'd prefer to maybe spend favor points to craft the character I want or something. That or make it cheaper to reroll so we have a little more control over it, it's easily possible to get 3 garbage characters or three that don't suit your gear/class, and let's be honest, nobody's gonna up and change their whole class spec hours in. Being able to spend extra favor to keep the current character would work too.

I know you can opt out of Ironman mode, but the setting doesn't seem to stick very well, as I've started a new game with it off and then I still get stuck resurrecting.

Hey, so how it works out of ironman is that new "Quick Load" appears in main menu, so you can always sue that to return to last save point.

Also out of ironman you can have multiple save files and switch between them.

there are no garbage characters, you can change all your skill points every time you die so your class is always perfect for who your playing. As for gear youll find that at the end it makes little difference. it can enhance you but your power comes from skills mainly.
