Class points?!

First, I want to say how blown away I am by how good this game is. I'm addicted. SO GOOD.

However, I have had no luck in figuring out what I'm supposed to do with class points. I have one that I've had since the beginning of the game but I don't see anywhere to spend it/invest it. The skills screen seems to only ask for Mastery points and I've had no issue with assigning skills, but what is the Class point used for, and where can I use it?

I've tried googling it and reading through the handbook, I found a result saying it's used for unlocking branches of the skill tree but I don't see anywhere in the skills menu that that would actually take place. Help?

You just put points in to a 2nd class mastery and it uses that point.
