disable ironman

Why can you disable ironman and then in game there is no change ?
Still there is only one save and the game overwrites it automatically, especially when your char. dies.
If it isn't a bug (in my game only) , please take this option out, it's annoying.

Hi, so here is the difference:

In Ironman mode, you can't go back - the game is autosaved on exit.

In a non-Ironman run, you can go back - the game is not autosaved on exit, and you can press escape -> quick load to return back whenever you want (eg. after you die).

Hope that clarifies the difference.

Now, if you manually save in non-Ironman mode, then yes, you cannot go back, as each campaign is limited to one save file. I will add multiple save files per run to the list of requested features, but don't expect that change to happen soon.

you mean quickload before the char is dead ?
Because when she is dead allready the game saves always.
And how to quickload ? I discocered F5 by myself, old habit from other games,.

Hey, so if you are playing with ironman disabled game should not autosave ever. (if that happens that would be a bug to fix)

Whenever you die you can click here: https://i.imgur.com/PwYN32v.png
to rollback to last checkpoint where you saved the game.

Now everything is clear, my Game is corrupt. I don't have this option on my screen. But perhaps the reason is, started with my first char with ironman enabled, then, with the second i disabled it. And now the Game is irritadet. I will trie the repair function, if this doesn't work, a new install. I hope my save is not lost .

Usually, it would be simple for us to edit the save file, but right now, we are preparing a big free game update which will go live in a few weeks which makes a things a bit more tricky until changes go live. But yeah, we can figure something out if you are willing.

Thank you, but it works fine now, and my new test-char is better than the one before.
Next will be a new one in ironman mode, and if an error comes , i'll try first : disable steamcloud , then delete tthe VI games file, so that it creates a new one at start.
After all, you made a very good game here, the portraits and the backstorys alone are outstanding. Please keep on that good work !
