People just come here to whine, vent, post memes, and farm awards with obvious baits.
https://discord.gg/duelyst
It says duelyst 2 but i am not sure where i got it. I check later if that link was from inside the game.
Edit: under FAQ a dev postet some stuff about duelyst 2. Including a Roadmap, the Logo next to his Name looks like it is from the devteam and i think i got that discord from ingame.
I asked countless time to either get a community manager for the steam hub, who can post / reply to various discussion here and having the official tag - in the way people on the steam hub know when an OFFICIAL REPLY / Statement has been done / question answered.
There are many players involved closely with D2 Devs or Staff, other than the ones who made big pledges on KS - who will probably do it even for free.
And if this is not possible, then AT LEAST, like other games where they prefer to centralize and arrange the discussions in a single place (Discord not the best solution, but still, with all channels and sub-channels lot better to manage, especially the official announcement and the FAQ channels, other than the game discussion with all the different sub-channels) -
IT TAKE 15 MINUTES TO LOGIN on Steam Store witht the accoutn used to publish the game, and ADD on steam communiy hub a STICKY POST informing the players to connect on Discord to find quicker answer to their questions, official anouncements and FAQ.
Really, 15 Minutes of their time to avoid the flood of discussions here left unanswered, or answered already countless times.
Exactly the same shoul have happened already at the time of launch, actually even before launching. A short FAQ for all players who realized Duelyst is back, totally unaware of the project - explaining clearly this is another Publisher AND Studio, without any bound to the previous one - therefore is not possible to "import" the accounts in any case, explaining why the general BBS has been removed, why there are so few cards and progression feels lot slower, telling about the Legacy mode available for playing, and the few other things that generated so many discussions here, as well negative reviews just caused from a lack of information.
The curious thing? Not even on Discord they made such FAQ. On the #General discussion, during the first 2 weeks mods or other players who backed the game, answered every time to the same questions over and over and over.
I'm no a Duelyst 2 hater, actually I hope it will become a successful game and with the release of Gauntled and the planned Roadmap the game will certainly improve and get new players who will stick with it. The game is still in Beta and release will take at leas 8-12 Months. Devs are not ignoring players Feedback, see how they released in less than 10 days after release and during holidays time, a patch address the major complains.
Still, even if a game is in beta it does not mean the Steam page has been made just to host the game and advertize it. There should be a minimum of communication, otherwhise why launching on steam the open beta, could have stayed just on discord / link to duelyst2 website, if the devs/publisher do not care to manage the community hub, or like I said, just put a sticky post where to address your questions and check for answers! (I don't find it fair, the community hub exists for a reason..but being a small company made of duelyst fans, I can understand). Still, not even a sticky post or a PR answering with the official tag the steam community hub discussion, it really gives a feeling "devs/publisher do not care".
Duelyst2 and Duelyst.gg are two different things.
Duelyst2 --> duelyst2.com , the game of this discussion hub.
The source code used is the original source code of Duelyst 1 (available now open source on github), but it has modified and adapted to create Duelyst 2 (the name is not really appropriate, regardless..)
Duelyst 2 has 2 draw/turn and no more general BBS, this has been made to bring back Duelyst to the roots (2draw/turn and no BBS were part of the original Duelyst 1, where the general abilities [BBS] added to try balancing the game and the expansion that came later, totally destroyed the balance, and when Natco/Bandai took over as publisher, it got even worst, since the original company had to keep releasing cards to ensure enough income, and it just became "a mess"). The "old" Duelyst is still accessible by playing "Legacy" mode, but it has no ranked game mode, nor it will be developed or tweaked.
Dueyst GG .> Duelyst.gg --> This is a one-man solo (or two?) developer, who created FROM SCRATCH (props, this was certainly a huge job) Duelyst 1 writing his source code.
Duelyst GG decided to keep the current status of Duelyst 1 before it closed, and attempted to balance or anyway "fix" the game (by adding even more things), with regular updates and where you own already all cards!
Since Duelyst1 just officially released the open source code few days a go, now duelyst gg can be on Steam as well, since there are not more risk of copyright infrigments. In fact, if you search the steam store, you will find Duelyst GG here on Steam unlocking in 11 days.
Look,i copied the invitation link of the duelyst 2 discord, it looks like this: https://discord.gg/duelyst
It says duelyst2 has a Roadmap for duelyst 2, the categories are duelyst2 and legacy.
So i am not sure why you answer to me about the difference between duelys2 and duelyst.gg.
I wanted to quote the comment from @KlausKerner, sorry ^^'
No problem, you just confused me there a bit.
