Street fighter is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ monument of fighting games style, it's around only 3k player daily.
and you found game in less than a minute.
Don't underestimate numbers. especially for a 1v1 game.
300-500 daily player is largely enough for a 1v1 game to function.
and duelyst is around 80player 24H/24, wich is very good for a "dead game"
Would be nice to get more players though.
"official" = agreed to, said, done, etc. by somebody who is in a position of authority
The only people, who are in a position of authority here, are developers. And they have never declared game dead.
However, I agree that game has been having very few updates recently, but this is not a sign of game dying. There are still thousands of players playing this game daily and following official Duelyst 2 twitter account (6,235 followers as of now).
There are indeed very few players using Steam, but most players use browser.
IMHO, developers should remove Duelyst 2 from steam completely to avoid this negative attention.
That´s exactly what I said. You might want to check the news page..
The guy I was referring to apparently did considering he deleted his post afterwards.
Wow, 17th of May. My post did not age well...
To answer your question :
- Short version : it was my wishful thinking
- Long version : matchmaking takes on average 10 seconds for me, so I assumed game was selecting opponents of my level. Since it was so quick to find opponents of my level, I assumed that there were a lot of players to choose from. That's how I arrived to conclusion that there were thousands of players.
Now, that I have played hundreds of matches, I see that I am regularly fighting the same people over and over again. What's worse, result doesn't change. I either win every time against the same person or lose every time against the same person...
So, yes, now, I agree that Duelyst 2 has a huge problem with playerbase.
Probably, because they underestimated the effort required for SW development.
I mean, they really think that updating general portraits (18 static pictures) takes as much effort as porting a game to mobile...

Right now there are 3k online. Though, it doesn't prove anything. And I also have suspicions that it is shared between Duelyst 2 and Duelyst GG.
There are 2. One is for duelyst 2, the other for duelyst gg.
I've played everything from wyvern & the .hack card game to duelyst and I can assure u it's fine
if it's not made for u than sux to suck
overwhelmingly negative. It's a disgrace.
I'm not surprised they let it die.
netdeck or break the meta because one way or another the meta puzzle for each season needs to be solved.
it's literally unhinged and deranged nonsense to tell people the ♥♥♥♥ you just posted and everyone else in this room is now less iq bcuz of u ty u will be hearing from my lawyer for this h8 crim3
this is the most rational post in this thread.
