Duelyst II

Duelyst II

The artstyle, oh god.
I wanted to like this game so much, I wasn't around at the time of the first duelyst, but looks a fun game, what kills me is the ATROCIOUS artstyle of the cards coming out directly from day 1 of a random person on deviant art.
I can't stand it.
The minions in the battelfield are cool, the cards are not.
Same goes for the hud/style of the interface, doesn't match even in the slightest with anything else.

I'm sorry, but this game is a flop.
Already sittin at 700 players after a day or two from release.
Plus the monetizing system is bad. SO bad.
Why devs are this dumb?
Make stuffs cheaper so people will be willing to spend EVEN MORE!

The "atrocious art" you speak of is called "pixel art" and it's not so easy to create. I dare you to try and make something. It requires a lot of time and patience in order to do so.

700 players for a f2p ccg on Steam in 2022 is actually really good in all reality.

I mean the lowest is $5 and it goes to $100.... like how much cheaper does it have to be? If you think it can viably be any cheaper and keep servers online, maintenance for said servers, etc. then I can certainly say with 100% confidence you do not understand video game development nor the cost involved in it.

I literally said "The minions in the battelfield are cool, the cards are not" was the only good part of the game.

I love all of the pixel art and the interface, personally. The general splash art is kind of bad though IMO.

The interface is nice, but does't fit neither the spalsh arts nor the in game pixel art.
Looks like was made for a different game

I LOVE the art style myself! :)

The non-pixel artwork is really bad, yes. it's been that way since the dawn of time - if you want to see an example of the art being good, I believe a few of the profile pics currently in the shop showcased the 'better' artwork before Duelyst 1 died from Bandai Namco Syndrome. If you're talking strictly about the interface and backgrounds as opposed to that, I don't know what to tell you except 'cry about it'.

The player count is concerning if only because it's so close to release and it's only that high. If it stayed that way for the next four or five years it would be perfectly fine. What you should be complaining about is the radio silence from the devs, since that typically doesn't bode well for any free to play game.
