Add some Life!
Would be neat if you could have a set of assembled rooms that invisibly connect in the ways you decide. And you can have a set of basic avatars live and interact with some of the things in the room. Not as in the player controls the avatars. No. It just preform one of a series of possible animations determined by objects within the rooms.

Perhaps as your scrolling through the rooms, you might find one of the avatars reading a book on the couch from the book shelf in the room, or in another room they're

Maybe this isn't a good idea?

Hello! Thank you for a suggestion!

While the idea is good, it might significantly increase development time. So I do not plan to add any life to the game other than pets with animations.

I might think about it later, as an update.

Oh yeah of course! That is alot to even think about. My idea for depth was very shallow with this idea.

If I had to pitch how it worked. Keep it to large things only. No lamps or small things. Chairs, or Tables. Maybe they'd sit at the chair and read, or stand near the table and set a coffee down and look at something they held. Or maybe one or two animations for sitting on the floor or against a wall.

Or invisible animation markers that you yourself could line up, that have a chance to play if the avatar gets close to said marker. That would save on not having to create an AI that generates an nav mesh of the room just so a low poly mannequin can go sit on a chair lol.

You could just draw walk paths and if it wants it can 'fade into' one of the animations. you set up near by to play out.

I know what you mean but 'that would take ALOT OF WORK'. like the low poly approach and understand the style of Avatar would have to be similar and even then.. Why have them at all? Which I haven't fully even justified. So I agree on the idea of revisiting this with fresh eyes.

Should you revisit this, I'd keep it low tech personally.

Yeah, markers sounds like an easy stuff to do.

Adding customizable idling avatars sounds like something people would really love to, I totally understand it. It's just I do not have enough time and have other things in priority. I must admit that the demo is not great enough as well, so right now I'm focused more on the controls, tutorials and a story mode. After the game will be released, I will update it and add features, and this one might be one of them.

Maybe adding some human background noise would be good. Like hearing cars, people walking in the stairs, maybe muffled talking in a fake language you know.

Hi! This is a nice idea and pretty easy to make. I will add it to my TODO list
