I can't post a crash message cause it's apparently not considered as an error and no files are made.

My graphics card is an: ATI Radeon 5800 HD
I updated my drivers to be sure, still no luck.

Can you post your dxdiag info here? It seems as if you need to reinstall direct X.

Okay, I fixed it. I went to the ATI site and downloaded the full driver + catalyst for my graphics card. I went through the custom option so that I was sure everything possible was reinstalled and after a lengthy installation, the game just worked. So the steam driver update uses the express method it seems.

i dont understand any of this stuff XD how do i update my grafic card?
Shadowsliver Dec 16, 2013 @ 2:47pm
Uninstall Asus Gamer OSD, it's been causing the problems (if you have it).

Once can update your graphics card by going to the website of your supplier (nvidea or ATI) and find the drivers for your card.

Can you put a link or something telling me where this download is?

Also, disable Asus gamerOSD if you have it.
