850 Food, Everyone Starved... Wat?

Pretty much title. Am I not "getting" something here? I had 10 dwarves, I had a food table, I had workers, a bunch of lemon trees, I assigned the workers, and everything was fine... until they all suddenly starved.

Could they get to the table to eat? A door locked in the way, a hole in the floor, something in the way of the hallway to the room where the table was, a ladder missing, etc

Oh. xD I may have put chairs around it, thinking they could sit and eat. Weird though, I really thought they would have been able to, would've looked badass too.
