1. Turn off steam cloud for now.
2. Start two new games in the steam version and exit.
3. My save game was in program files\steam\userdata\2809972\200260\remote but yours might be different. Search the userdata folder for save0.sgd to find it. The filename will have your GFWL id included.
4. My retail CD save file was at Documents\WB Games\Batman Arkham City GOTY\SaveData\e...\save0.sgd Rename this file so that it is the same filename as one of your steam saves and copy it over, replacing the old.
5. It should be that easy but Steam won't recognize the file. You will need to download a hex editor (I used a free one called tiny hex editor). Erase the first 4 numbers so the file starts with 6C 76. If you compare to the steam save, it starts the same way.
6. Go up one folder and erase remotecache.vdf or else you will get a corrupt file warning in the game.
7. Start the game and cross your fingers! When I continued my game, steam went nuts giving me 11 achievements at once (there should be more but I don't really care).
Don't modify or move your original save game in case you screw up! Modify a copy!
this worked although im missing some trophies from the story line the completion is still correct thanks!
I might try the save game hex edit, but then again I might just start a new playthrough to go for all the achievments.
