ah so its a mouse problem? Thats the first time I ever ran into that in any game. I'm currently using a wireless mouse

i was using a cheap wireless one from tesco at the time

It can't be a mouse issue...can it? I'm using a pretty standard wireless Logitech. I've been able to lock on and activate without any problems in the rest of the game (explosive gel, disruptor, etc.) so why would this be any different? Of course, it IS, so...argh, I guess I'll have to try a different mouse. Not sure where I'm going to find one...might have to borrow one from work.

I had a similar issue with one of my Logitech wireless mice where it wouldn't let me use the Environment Analysis scanner by holding the Detective Mode switch button, which I had bound to mouse4 (thumb button 1). It would just keep switching in and out of Detective Mode but never do a scan, so I couldn't solve riddles.

Using my wired Logitech G400 worked fine however.

I fixed my issue 2 days ago.

I borrowed a wired mouse from work, but...stupidly, I overlooked the fact that it's just a cheapo that doesn't have the two thumb buttons. Whoops.

What DID fix the problem was downloading AutoHotkey[www.autohotkey.com] and temporarily rebinding the letter P on my keyboard to MB4. FINALLY!

You have to hold it down and then in a few seconds it'll lock on.

Of course, but that wasn't working. This is a bug in the game.

Thanks BevansDesign. You saved the day. I had the same problem. Lock would flick for a second but not hold. Used AutoHotkey and bound 'O' and 'P' to hold and release mouse button (X1).

Script as follows :

o::
Click X1 down
Return

p::
Click up X1
Return

Using Logitech MX mouse.
