Don't meet minimum system requirements?
Just posted in another thread about this but i'm just curious. This is my first semi-gaming rig and my 2nd day of PC gaming. Anyways i bought Arkham city and looked at the minimum requirements and according to them i'm fine with this rig. I got an amd-a6 5400k 3.6ghz APU with 8gb of and when i went to configure the game it(steam) said i didn't meet the minimum requirements. I'm running it at 1366 x 768 at 30fps just fine so at the end of the day i'm enjoying the game but is it common to be prompted about not meeting requirements when you do? or since i'm a newb is my rig really not fast enough in theory for the game?

What GPU is in your PC?
Beastie Jan 5, 2013 @ 11:04pm
from your other post

APU(amd a6 5400k) but it's 3.6ghz with intergrated graphics

that is why it says not meeting the requirements

yeah you could have the best system in the world, but it would be crippled with integrated graphics. You want to get yourself a proper GFX card

buy a gtx 670 for a cheap price. I buy mine for 350€ with borderlands 2 and assasins creed 3 :)

Thanks for the help guys. This is a budget build and also my first. I'm mainly a 360 gamer but built this rig just to play some mmo's. If the intergated graphics bug me enough i'll crossfire it with something beefier.

Understand now. In short APU's don't meet the requirements for alot of games cuz of no dedicated graphics. Again thanks.

You can get a decent mid range GFX card for around £100 these days. The high end ones are really only worth getting IMO if your going to be a hard core gamer, doing streaming, or wanting to do everything on ultra high settings.

For the most part i get by on a card that costs about £80, infact ive only had 1 game that dosent work

Thanks man, I already like the graphics on this APU at 1366 x 768 more than my xbox at 1080p on my tv. I'm sure bumping up my card will really kick some tail.

I keep getting trolled the other way. My current pc is a toaster that can just 'sort of' run newer stuff on the lowest settings.

...yet every game I start up has everything automatically set as high as it can go, forcing me to do the menu shuffle to turn everything back off as I hear the 'trololol' song in my head.

AMD's APUs actually feature decent GPU power dependant on RAM. I have one and it is fine with a majority of games at 720p @ 30FPS. A graphics card will kick some more for you though of course.

I play most games on medium and it looks great at 1366 x 768. Get about 30fps. All i need for now.
