How to wall jump using mouse/keyboard?
This is driving me mad, for a number of the riddler trophies I need to jump from pads on wall to pads on the wall opposite.

But what the hell do you have to do to jump of the first pad and glide without losing too much height? I've tried letting go of [SPACE] when on the first pad and pressing it again and while I do glide I always lose too much height.

As an example I've found a youtube like to someone exactly one of the trophies I can't do.
See how hes got enough height to reach the second pad with no problem!

Hey did you manage to find out how to do it? I'm in the exact same situation and I'm only a handful of trophies away from Riddler's final room!

Once you jump on 1 wall you use the grapnel on something high around you (you have a few seconds to throw the grapnel before Batman jumps down from the wall) and do a grapnel boost (press space 2 times before reaching whatever you used the grapnel on). You will then be thrown high into the air and just need to fly to the other wall pad. Using the grapnel boost does not count as touching the floor and the pads will not reset. Repeat as many times as necessary.

Don't overcomplicate this; you don't need Grapnel Boost for this puzzle, just do what he does in the video. Glide from one pressure plate to the next, your glide and gravity will assure the correct elevation for the next target. It's much like driving your own car; the car will go where your eyes go so keep your POV centered on the next plate or even slightly above it so you don't miss the next plate. Don't stare at the ground or you'll drop or glide faster to the ground.

I do not think the "Boost" is that complicated. Do you think pressing "space" 2 times is complicated? Also, for a few trophies you need the boost so might as well learn it. The person said that we are talking about several trophies and not just the trophy shown in the video. Again, using a boost is very easy and not in any way complicated as you claim it to be. In fact I think it is much easier doing these trophies with the boost than trying to time your glide perfectly.

No need to quote, we don't need to see the same comment twice. A direct response makes for more efficient reading.

I'm aware there's multiple trophies that use the glide-rebound action, it teaches us to glide properly. There's also AR challenges that require precision gliding, it's kind of an expected prerequisite in the Arkham games. There's precision gliding areas both interior and freeroam in which you won't be able to use Grapnel Boost.

The thing is that in this case, using Grapnel Boost IS over-complicated, as it's not needed to solve these puzzles. There's about 3-4 Riddler trophies that use glide-rebound, and only one of them requires use of the grapnel, because gaining height quickly is necessary to solve that one. This isn't that one, so don't use the Grapnel Boost. Just glide from panel to panel; if you push [SPACE] just when Bats reaches the wall, he'll push off the wall on the correct trajectory all on his own.

Using a quote to indicate the person you are responding to is a normal etiquette in any forum. It indicates not only who you are responding to but often what part of the post. Efficient reading has nothing to do with it.You should be able to efficiently read my response without the quote causing any interference. You are just nitpicking.

How about simply addressing them directly? Didn't mean to touch a nerve but it was obvious (to me at least) who you were addressing; that far into the discussion, I was the only one with a different viewpoint. Another thing about quoting is it doesn't reflect edits or corrections made by the quoted.

Back on topic, gliding skills in the Arkham games are fairly essential, not only for traversal but for trophies and achievements. The advanced AR challenges really depend on tight gliding ability. If you use the Grapnel and it works for you, cool. But ultimately getting the best out of these games in most but not all situations is learning how the logic of the gameplay and puzzles work before throwing more variables into the mix.

Thank you for your offer but i prefer using quotes. If you want to address people on the forum directly without the use of quotes, then you are free to do so. Since there is nothing in the Steam policy that dictates whether or not quotes should be used I will use it. If you have any further problems with me using quotes, I advice you to take the situation up with Steam support.
