That's how the GOTY edition starts. The Catwoman missions are a part of the main story.

Wait, you don't play as her in the regular version in the beginning?

does the batman segment start after you beat the first thugs, or do you have to play as her for a while?

Er, no. Both Regular & GOTY versions start with the Catwoman segment, and you have to play as Catwoman during the main game for at least one section too.

I owned the normal version for 360 and PC and now upgraded. Always had the Catwoman/Two-Face scene at the start.

It doesnt last long, and then if I am not mistaken you play as her another instance.

Catwoman was a DLC included from the start in the Regular version. You needed to redeem the code.

Aha, that would explain it then. Presumably if you didn't redeem the Catwoman code, it would skip the intro. Fair enough :p

ok that makes a lot more sense now haha

The redeem code on consoles was a trick to lessen the value of game sharing and used game sales.

The Catwoman part was effectively a free DLC on the game disc that is tied to your user account. If you have a used copy or borrowed from a friend, you have to buy the Catwoman DLC.

On PC this isn't as much of a problem, so there wasn't a need for the unlock code.
