So is dying the only way to heal up if you get hurt?
I mean outside of jumping gangs of thugs (which doesn't work well learning this game), if you bump into stuff (like steam or fire vents or the like) and only have a little life left, is killing yourself the only way to get health back?

It's getting kind of old purposfully dying simply to heal up a bit so I can try and keep going.

Learning it and how to use a controller at the same time and it's a bit of a wicked combo. I don't play console games - only PC games (well over 100 of them here on steam).

As such, timing on movement, swaying camera at times and such... It's a PITA and I do bump into crap here or there as I try and figure out the buttons on the controller (like not doing a barrel role into a flame or dropping onto someone vs a silent takedown from above and the like).

Couple that with hitting some odd glitches like opening the door back to the loading area -- LT + RT won't open the door. LT + B works to open it up -- it's supposedly the same effect but the standard shoot won't open the door, only the fast fire mode will.

As for the "genius" above you - always nice to hear from the puberty stricken croud - they bring such enlightenment to topics they post to.

I dont play console games either but this game is easy i use a mouse. Your trying to make things sound a lot more conplicated than they are.

I don't want to be a noob hater like these other guys are. Sometimes stuff happens, and you run in to smoke or something like that. Experience revives health, and thats why after a battle, you get health. So if you health is low, find yourself a gand of three thugs and heal yourself. If that dosen't help, you could just move on and see if you could get it back later. Hope I helped

Thanks for the reply.

Goof up above you seems to think nobody gets hit much yet I've seen vids on the game where "experts" get beat down to half health or more and I'm no expert at this one. It seems I just bump into problems here or there at times.

Best "fix" I've hit is to find a riddler puzzle and finish one of those - they aren't that bad usually (some are - like that one where you have to bounce between the 3 pads near the electric fence without touching the ground. That one was a PITA to figure out... start a jump, hit the B key, try and float to a pad... uph! That took a while.)

I've tried that waxing a group but at times that doesn't work so I'll just drop into a batch and die - that gets the health back so I can continue back into tougher areas. (some batches... I've dropped 4+ of them and still no "done" XP because some others were near by and that seems to prevent finalizing XP gains until *ALL* of them are down).

I appreciate the advice.
I did not have a issue with the health. I play batman as though it is like the tv show, only knock ppl out when necessary.

My best advice is just to practice at the game for a good while, and make sure to use a controller. I sucked at this game when I first played it. I actually worked on Arkham City (I worked for Warner Bros, the publisher), and when I was brought onto the project, I'd never played Arkham Asylum - though I'd wanted to give it a try sometime. It took me a good while to learn the game to it's full extent (and to be fair I didn't have much experience in this genre to begin with), but once I learned it, everything became so fluent. I never even buy the melee/firearm armor upgrades until I have everything else.

If you're having issues with combat or Inv Predator scenes, try watching others play on Youtube. Watching my co-workers, some of which had a lot of experience already when I got onto the project, really helped me out a lot. So if something feels like it's not running very fluent in game, combat or whatever, try giving that a shot, and continue to practice. The game autosaves often, so for the most part, you don't really need to worry about losing progress. And if it's just combat that needs work, just play the first combat challenge for awhile.

And, as someone already said, experience will help you regain health as well. Plus, if you're having a lot of trouble with combat, invest points into your armor.

You can get experience very quickly by just flying around and collecting Riddler Trophies. They are EVERYWHERE. And while a lot need upgrades/tools you get further in the game, there's still a rediculous amount of trophies that you can get right after you start the game and get the suit. :) Plus there's also thugs to beat up of course (and random muggings you can stop, which only requires you to take 1 person down, and you get exp for that as well).

If you or anyone has any questions to the game or help (except for troubleshooting PC problems), feel free to ask! Although I haven't really played the game recently, I "played" the game 40-80 hours a week constantly for 10 months when I was working on it, so I have a bit of experience! :) Haha. Hope this helps a little.

Experience = HP. So basically, riddler clues/trophies or take out a group of thugs, or destroy some stuff like some security cameras or something.

I honestly don't have a problem healing at all, if I am hurt for some reason I just take out a group of thugs and I'm ready to roll.
