Can't record with OBS
Hello,

I wonder if anyone has or had the same issue as I'm having now. I can't record or stream Batman: AC. Its just a black screen with sound. I tried the basic stuff that I could find like running both as administrator, update drivers and various programs, game and monitor capture, tweaked settings inside OBS. Nothing works. ARK, GTAV, H1Z1, Battlefield and more work fine. Batman AC doesn't show up in the applications list either.

If anyone has an idea on how to get past this, that would be a great help!

thanks in advance!

Launch the game and refresh the list, should come up. If not try running the game in DX9 if you have it on DX11 and vice versa.

Thanks! DX9 did the trick.

I'm running in Win 10 and the game doesn't even have its own program tab along the bottom. OBS doesn't even see the game... not sure how to switch from DX11 to DX9, an explanation would be good, I'd like to get this fixed.

From the launcher in the settings disable tessellation and the other setting to do with lighting, it's either above or below tessellation

Can also be done through editing the DefaultEngine.ini, typically found here:
C: \ Program Files \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ Batman Arkham City GOTY \ BmGame \ Config \ DefaultEngine.ini
Search for "AllowD3D10" and change "True" to "False"
This is fixed my problem.

It worked by turning off DX11 effects. When I ran it in DX9 it didn't work but by setting the ''Detail level'' from Extreme to very high it started recording.

The topic is already a bit old, but still valid. It helped me to set everything as low as possible, then when OBS saw it I could set the graphics freely without any problems
