Game fails to Launch
Hey all,
anyone else come across trying to launch the game, Steam says 'playing' and has 'stop' option but then says 'Play'.
It doesn't launch at all, even via the exe itself. uninstalled reinstalled, changed to admin rights, validated folder integrity. still nothing. doesn't launch at all.

Hi :batsilo:
Have you tried verifing integrity of game files, reinstalling .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.0 and installing NVIDIA PhysX?
If so, try adding this dll's to game folder:
- msvcp140.dll
- vccorlib140.dll
- d3dcompiler_43.dll
- xinput1_3.dll
- d3dx9_43.dll
- d3dx11_43.dll

Hope it helps. :batsymbol:

yeah i tried validating integrity as originally said. Haven't tried the >net Framework 3.5 and 4.0. i'll give that a go and see if that works. thanks for the tip
I see it says you've played at little over 2 hours up until now. Does that mean it worked previously and has since stopped working, or did it never work yet?

did work, couldn't tell you the last time i sat down and played a decent session though
Follow the process on the second page. You have to allow certain processes on Windows Security. After having the game for years and not being able to play it..... I can do it now. (I'm still going to beat Bloodborne before go for the trophies on Steam....And I have Arkham City on PS4 and have a lot of the trophies there so desire to do it again isn't so high.)

Have you solved the problem and successfully launched the game?
I found solution for my launch crash by reinstalling all Visual C++ Runtimes and added DirectX with Jun2010_D3DCompiler_43_x86 to folder. :batarang:

actually yeah, the link above in a reply comment actually has the solution, i'll paste step by step below.

Go to;
Settings >
Privacy and Security >
Windows Security >
Virus and Threat Protection >
App and Browser Control >
Exploit Protection Settings >
Program Settings >
Add program to customize
--(add both Batman Arkham City.exe and BMLauncher.exe)
You're going to find Control Flow Guard, tick Override system settings, turn off. Scroll down further till you find Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR) Tick override system settings then turn that off as well.)
Restart your pc, and your game should start with no problems.
(although i didn't restart, it just worked.)
