Batman: Arkham City Is Overrated
I know that this game is a classic for many, but I think you all only like it because it's nostalgic. There are many bugs that people seem to just not notice, like when joker counts down in that church tower, he doesn't blow it up when he gets to zero, and just keeps talking about random stuff. Do the devs care about the game? why would they keep such a glaringly apparent bug in the game? Also, in the Catwoman DLC when you leave batman instead of saving him the game just ends! does any one else have this problem? from my understanding it is supposed to continue but for me it just plays the credits. is there a mod to fix these bugs? oh, and how do you find the last Riddler trophy? Thanks!

LOL, you're really serious?
These are no bugs, these are story points and thus creative decision of the the game designers. Joker threatens - and obviously teases Batman. He's just playing with him, because, just in case you got the story he actually needs him to find a cure for his ill health.
And the Catwoman fake ending is a joke! After that it visibly rewinds and you have to rethink her (self-centered and obviously regretably wrong) decision to leave Batmanto die.
It's just a (brilliant - as far as I'm concerned) visualization of her though process.
Big spoiler:She's a woman - and there's romance somewhere in there... ;)

No nostalgia on my part.
While it is true that I did play Arkham City many years ago, I barely remembered much about it before playing through it again last year. Now it's one of my all time favourite games, even more so that I've taken the time to indulge in the challenge maps, not just the main story, which really made me appreciate the genius of the combat system in these games. :arkham:

The only bug I ran into in my over 100 hours of playing was a thug in the Steel Mill running around in circles, which was about as minor as you can get in terms of bugs. :batsilo:
like when joker counts down in that church tower, he doesn't blow it up when he gets to zero, and just keeps talking about random stuff.
That's not a bug, that's a feature! :GDEasy:
One that gps explained a lot better in the previous post than I could.

I never experienced any of these things you mentioned in my playthrough.

Yeah. This and Asylum as well are rock solid titles in terms of quality. In all the times I played the Arkham games Asylum never crashed on me, City did twice. I wish I could say the same about Origins (20+ crashes) and Knight (6 crashes). Btw. all four games store crash protocols, so you can go in and acutally count them... ;)
I also hardly know any reproducable bugs in City. Zsasz mission icon seems to glitch when leaving the game before leaving the building - which is a minor visual annoyance and hardly game breaking. And I had one situation in NG+ on the way to wonder tower where Hugo Strange holds his speech and I am getting attacked by Tyger guards but can't defend or attack back until the speech is over. Not sure if this was a bug or on purpose...
But beyond that, rock solid game. A reference for other companies. And also for the sequels. Anyone want to discuss reproducable bugs in Origins and Knight? I hope you don't have anything else planned for the afternoon... ;)

Take a look at author post history, no reason to engage.

The Arkham games in general are kind of overrated, but they're still VERY good games. Like, saying a thing is overrated isn't a reflection on that thing's quality, just the hype around it.

But the things you mentioned aren't even remotely bugs (assuming you were being serious, which it doesn't look like you were), they're deliberate story elements. However, there is a problem with getting Calendar Man to do his thing to get the achievement, but it's a stupid achievement with a stupid mechanic and stupid requirements, anyway. Just a terrible idea.

As for nostalgia, no, this game is pretty much how I remember. Both the good, and the bad.

Indeed, it does seem to just be a joke. Not worth a clown or any other awards, though.

Not to mention he does not own it on steam.

Lol, that's probably a point in his favor. It's often best to play this game on its native console.

It is not nostalgia, only now I'm playing it. A great game, the story could be made a movie. The time you get to jump out of the church is as much as you need, not a bug I think. It is still an introductory scene, the game is teaching you that jumping through windows is a feature. As for the leaving Batman behind, well I also thought the game would end, even credits start playing, then the whole thing plays in reverse and you just have to save Batman. A very funny idea actually.
