[Solved] Game crash at very first game save (catwoman)
Faulty application:
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham City GOTY\Binaries\Win32\BatmanAC.exe
this Module is causing the problem:
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham City GOTY\Binaries\Win32\PhysXCore.dll

I run a i7 with a Titan 780 and Nvidia drivers 337.88.
I have all graphic settings at high (recommended default).
It's the only application causing problems, I don't really know whats the problem. Any ideas?

EDIT: it seems the installed PhysX file was the problem, a re-install of the PhysX files did the trick.

in the Game Options, scroll down and turn off PhysX

PhysX off is the solution, quite sad, as I would have enjoyed that very much... Thanks Geezer.

How do I turn it off if the game crashes in loading the first cutscene?

when you click play a window will open with 2 options click on configure pc options then another window will open, go to settings and scroll to the bottom of the page where you can turn it off.

Great. Arkham Asylum also doesn't start because of Physx problems.

Turning physx off may work around it, but that's not necessarily your fix. Physx should work.

Make sure ALL of your drivers and redistributables are up to date. NOT just the GPU!
OS up to date
All drivers, including system/chipset and firmware.
Make sure the Physx system software is up to date.
The latest GPU drivers are 340.43

try toverify the game cache

you can also go to add remove programs and repair physx

I did all of the above and re-installed Physx, I also made use of the Nvidia Experience, and now it's working. Thanks for the help, everyone!

Just copy actual PhysXCore.dll from ProgramFiles\PhysX\Engine\ to ..\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham City GOTY\Binaries\Win32\ with replace, it is working for me

There might be a fix from the Arkham Asylum Forum. Downlaod Physx from here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.1220-driver.html
And install.
Apparently the normal driver installation doesn't install it correctly.

I had no time to verify this yet but hope it helps.
