Batman arkham city fatal error (solved)

whenever i press the start button (I use a xbox360 controller) the game checks for downloadable content as usual, but then the game crashes with a fatal error message, can anybody help me with this?)

I have this same problem.

Error Message:

Fatal error!

Address = 0xe129fd (filename not found) [in C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham City GOTY\Binaries\Win32\BatmanAC.exe]

Then it repeats that message with 5 more slightly different address' like: 0x41fc12, 0xc33866, 0xe13110, 0xe13257 & 0xdf6ea3.

Im on a new PC but i did the 4x things in the setup file, dx .net etc
I7-4790 4x3.6GHz, geforce GTX 750 Ti
8gb RAM, win 7 home premium
NVIDEA driver 364.72

I also did a verify cache which didnt find anything missing

Dedpul, is your game verified and patched?
Steam Updates (Patches) and Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
1. Select game in Library, right-click Properties, then Updates to Allow Background Downloads.
2. Select game in Library, right-click Properties, then Local Files and Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Also, disable PhysX from the Launcher (Settings, scroll to last item) and test the game:

it didnt work

i have performed 2 reinstalls and many verification of cashes resulting in missing files that get downloaded but not installed apparently because they still come up missing. will try to disable physX and let you know. i have run this on this machine before with windows 10 but now hmmmm

This is a common issue with modern GPUs.
The only way to get past it, is to use a cheap Intel GPU (such as the HD4000), to my knowlege.

The game devs really need to fix this.

Dedpul, open your Launcher and disable DX10 features:
Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Batman Arkham City GOTY \ Binaries \ Win32 \ BmLauncher

If that fails, disable DX10 from the DefaultEngine.ini using the following procedure:
Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ Batman Arkham City GOTY \ BmGame \ Config \ DefaultEngine.ini
Open DefaultEngine.ini with NotePad
Locate "AllowD3D10=True" and change True to False
Save file and restart computer

Just trying to help here

- Download this http://www.mediafir*.com/download/act7x8alp5951rw/200260.rar (change * to 'e')

- Extract that file to Steam/userdata/<your id number>/ (Dont forget to backup 200260 folder first)

It works like charm to me so i hope it works with you too..
