A Problem with Batman:Arkham City FIXED

So I bought this game today around 12pm EST and then downloaded it. Then, once it finished, I opened it and played it a bit. Then I had to go so I closed out of it. Keep in mind I just bought this game and i only runned it twice. Then I come back around 6pm EST deciding to play some batman when I get this message saying, "Windows cannot find bm.launcher.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again". I did a bit of research and its been a problem since 2010! I looked into the files and all that and I noticed that my bm.launcher.exe was missing, and I never tampered with it. People say that it automatically deletes itself and makes your game crash. So it wont let you play the game. I'm thinking of refunding the game until they fix this problem but if I find out how to fix it, I will notify you guys as quick as possible. If you know how to fix it, then please comment down on how to fix it.

So I uninstalled the game and downloaded it again and it worked! Kind of. I could now go into the launcher but now it's telliing me that im still missing the bm.launcher.exe in my files. But that didnt stop me. But then, it starts crashing in THE LAUNCHER! So idk anymore.

Don't reinstall the game, just patch and verify it first. Then restart your computer:
1. Select game in Library, right-click Properties, then Updates to Allow Background Downloads.
2. Select game in Library, right-click Properties, then Local Files and Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

sry, for the late response. I did allow background downloads but its also not letting me verify integrity of game cache because im running something in the background. im going to try and restart steam and maybe then i can do it. I'll let you know if it works.

So i did what you told me to do and the first try, it failed becasue i did something wrong. Im doing it again now, and it says "42 files failed to validate and will be reacquired". So that sounds awesome. But the thing is, the first try, i opened the pc settings option for Batman:Arkham City. So should I just run the game this time or what? But anyways, it looks like it works so thank you so much.

btw, i just tryed running it and the same thing happened. But i saw that you said in the beginning, i should patch and verify first and then restart my pc. Was Step 1 and 2 the patch, and if so, do i have to restart my pc?

sadly, it didnt work because it deleted stuff on the win32 file. and I saw it happen. it sucessfully reinstalls the missing files but when you run the game/launcher, it deletes it again. this is just not cool. I was looking forward to playing this game. They really need to fix this bug/glitch/problem. Thanks anyways for trying. :)

Restart computer directly after patching and verification, and before playing. Did you do that? Also, what are your PC specs and Windows OS?

yes I did. I restarted right after it finished reinstalling the missing files and opened up steam to play Batman:Arkham City. But wait, restarting before playing? am i suppose to restart it twice?

AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics
2.00 GB RAM
Windows 10 64-bit

Yes, I know. this is a very low end PC but I have runned this game before and if I cant run it for some reason then i'll just have to wait for a few days because i am getting my new PC parts to build a new Computer. So no pressure. Thanks anyways.

Windows 10 lacks the legacy redistributables. Click on all these, restart, test the game:
