Can't use XBox One controller.

My XBox One controller doesn't work with this. Any idea why? The game says press start at the beginning of the game. But this controller doesn't really have the start button, and if I click at the beginning with the mouse, I can only use keyboard and mouse.

Yup, that is correctly configured just as you said.

I think the fact that this is an Xbox One controller, and not an XBox 360 controller, might be the cause of this. When the game was released, the age of the XBox 360 was still going strong, and the two controllers use different input formats. The game's not designed for an XBox One controller, only an Xbox 360 controller. So without 3rd-party programs, you'll need an Xbox 360 controller, or just use M+K.

@Valden21, I run the game just fine with a wired XBox One controller. All the Arkham games.

@SarPraise, check Google to see if you're missing drivers for that model on W10, especially if you're using the enhanced XBox One controller. When those first released I recall having issues using them on W8.1, seemingly now patched. When I recently plugged in my new one, the drivers downloaded automatically. If you have a gaming mouse or other USB devices, unplug them to eliminate input conflict. If you were using a keyboard-to-gamepad app like XPadder for older games, disable it.

Navigate to Control Panel \ Hardware and Sound \ Devices and Printers. Right-click on your controller icon and click Properties > Hardware. If Device Status doesn't say "This device is working properly" then click Troubleshoot. Let us know your results.

My XB1 controller worked fine with no problems, so it's not the controller type.

turn off all the options in the steam controller menu. That fix the problem.
