This happened for Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY as well, I just refunded that game since I tried so hard to fix it. I am getting pretty much the same error for this game too, hopefully I get it fixed and I don't refund this as well.

You are probably running Windows 10 which doesn't include many of the earlier redistributables AA and AC need. Install DirectX 9.0c and .net framework 3.5. You may need to also install earlier versions of visual C and physx system software which are both included with the games.

for me the error said .Net but was also pointing to Directx 9.0c. i reinstalled it by going to the game's folder ->setup->dxredist and running dxsetup.exe. that fixed the .net error

Since The Batman is on the agenda again, I assume many gamers will give Arkham series a go these days. This is the CLEVEREST solution for those who keeps having this annoying problem. Just isten to this man and enjoy!

What a legend! I didn't have the BatmanAc.exe file so i created an exception for BMLauncher.exe, BmStartApp.exe, and ShippingPC-BmGame.exe and it finally worked!
