Just a few questions
Hi there.
Thanks for the update, seems pretty good so far.

Unlocked black flame already, and really like how it included more than just killing something in the current map.
Got a banishment but sadly from a curse, not the shop yet.

I do have a couple of questions tho...

TOMES OF KNOWLEDGE:
I unlocked everything that doesnt say its coming with the 0.9 / 1.0 updates.
While i am still missing a total of 50 tomes, theres only six for 0.9 + four for 1.0 so a total of 10.
Are there any more maybe from some steam achievements or so?
I rarely bother with those in games, but kinda doubt they would be missing in the tomes list.
So whats the deal here?
Am i still missing something else, are we just not supposed to max out everything, will the missing 40 tomes be added with future updates, and simply arnt even on the list so far?
Im kinda confused, maybe someone can tell me a thing or two about this.

PYROMANCER: FIRE TYPE / BLACK FLAME
So i just unlocked the pyros black flame.
Was a bit short and easy imo, but the way it worked was quite nice.
Havnt had a chance to try it yet bc im busy finally maxing out the other chars.

But now i wonder if the other chars have something similar coming with no idea versions 0.9/1.0 or whatever.
Are there any plans yet, any info someone might have and would share?

BOSSES:
Now this is a bit complicated and debatable id say, but i want to ask nonetheless.
Some of the bosses just seem kinda boring and helpless.
The tree in the 1st map, the sword in the castle, and a few more.
Worst probably being the autlaic guy. He often dies in 1-3 seconds, i cant remember ever taking a single hit from him, and i sorta doubt that hes ever managed to kill anyone that was not afk.

SO whats the take on increased difficulty for at least some of the bosses?
Seeing how not all of them have this issue of being kinda boring, i doubt just increasing HP or DMG or their SPEED across the board would make much sense.

But maybe some individual buffs to the weaker ones would do.
And since i can already hear people complaining about the mere idea,
why not a simple way to switch them to normal / higher difficulty?
An additional tome maybe since that mechanic already exists anyhow.
1 more tome to buff bosses, maybe even yet another one to increase the trash mobs count or difficulty.

Heya, so as for your first question: The Knowledge points will never be completely filled out. You won't get to max everything. You simply pick and choose which ones you want to max. We decided to go this route to give players choice in how to build their characters, rather than just make an overall powerhouse. You can see which Tomes you have collected in the tomes sub menu. nothing is hidden, and yes we will release the remaining tomes when the content is available. it's possible we may even add more, but only time will tell.

As for the Black Flame addition to the Pyromancer: We like to bring interesting twists and surprises in the game (there's more hidden stuff you may not have found as is) and we have some other surprises coming, though adding more skins/variations is not specifically in the cards right now. We're going to update our roadmap with specifics of what we will add through the remainder of Early Access once we transition to version 0.9.

Bosses: Autlaic used to kill people constantly and we had a lot of complaints about him. I'm actually glad to hear you find him easy now because we toned him down considerably, so if people still feel he's challenging, then I truly would not know what to say at this point. One thing we would like to do is add level tiers to the game, but I cannot say for sure yet if we'll be able to pull this off before 1.0. I would love to make things harder where it counts. The game used to be harder, in general, but we've eased up over time because so many players suggested the game was too hard for them. It's always a tough balancing game for us. I think level tiers would solve this and allow us to strengthen some of the fights. It's definitely something we would like to do, but we'll just need some time to figure out what's possible before we hit 1.0.

Thanks for the fast reply.

#1 sounds good.
I know i will at some point just hex edit myselfs those missing points to check that out,
but if its working the way its supposed to, and im not missing something, that already covers my main worries.
At least if nothing else it keeps that part of the meta progression a bit more relevant since you can still mess around with it unlike a fully maxed chars tree.
Makes sense to me at least.

#2 sounds even better.
I really like the different things that chars have going on in this game so far.
Still think the rangers moonwalk mode is a great idea.
Being able to pick auto/vs manual or directional or whatever clearly too.
And now theres even the new black flame that i havnt even tried yet.
Definately looking forwards to that too.
Curious to see how i like the gain/loss ratio there in an actual in game scenario.

#3 again sounds fine to me.
Im the last guy to be in a rush.
Just the chance of getting some sort of easy/hard mode so everyone is potentially happy sounds great.
I get that theres always new players, people that just want a chill and relaxed time, but also the die hard junkies.
Guess i just turned from hc junkie mode towards a more chilled approach over the years, but lucky me got stuck in between the frontlines before i ended up having to call myselfs a casual^^
If you would add some kind of difficulty adjustment at SOME point, thats would clearly be good enough for me personally.
I just fail to see how anyone can have a problem with these bosses.
Before or after whatever has changed.
I mean im not exactly billy titshill videogamecheater of the millenium:steamthumbsup:
AND i havnt even fully upgraded all my trees.
But never really felt the game was too hard let alone unfair.

Anyways...

Internally we've had similar convos about difficulty in the past :) I am really gonna push hard to get level tiers in for 1.0. I think that could be doable, but I'll know more in a few weeks and I'll definitely post some updates on what to expect, but that is very high on my potential features list.

in my head: adding a second level tier when you beat the game's core content would then add faster, stronger, higher HP mobs in the tier 2 version of all levels. Some crossover enemies from other levels to change things up, some new mobs/curses/features that don't exist in the first tier, and enhanced bosses with maybe an extra attack thrown in the mix and a lot more aggression. then we could tie in some achievements for tier 2. i dont think we would go above tier 2. essentially it would be normal and hard mode, but hard would have some new features/changes beyond just simple hp boost on enemies.
