I came to this discussion because I had a similar problem to OP's. What is funny, is that no information at all in this entire discussion helped me at all even moderately. Before I get into what actually helped, let me give some background on my issue. I have had Mount and Blade: Warband since forever, and I love the game more than imaginable. I recently tried out Fire & Sword (had been avoiding due to bad reviews) and thought it really wasn't half bad, but every time I played it it would crash and say "Application blocked from using graphics hardware" about half an hour in. I was baffled, because I could run both Warband and Napoleonic Wars completely fine. Then I ended up here and started typing this. What solved my problem was not any of the in-detail information that I skimmed through from all the other comments (though some hinted at what the solution was in my case), but this line: "the game cannot handle being ran at high speeds." It immediately made me remember that I had set the max framerate for Fire & Sword at 9999 (something I hadn't done for the other two). Long story not as long, game could not handle uber computational abilities and setting the cap to 500 fixed.
So, to summarize, if anyone is having this problem and raised an old game's FPS limit super high, that's probably the problem.
My Spec Alienware M17Rx4 It has been running good on all of my games no compliant. I have tried many recommendation from the internet such as update drivers reinstall steam games. reformatting ect ect.
But I found out that the program that is doing all this to me was my internet security program called Avast. It was by coincident after the third time refreshing my computer without installing that program got me fix the issue. I am using my old default internet security from MacAfee and now everything works great.
Hope this helps for those had frustrations over weeks of not being able to play the games.
it had to do with compatibility issue with some internet security programs.
-The Assassin's Shadow. well I uninstalled it so it didn't hurt me lol. anyway
you can uninstall the update. but you need to check online to see which one is the update for 8.1
these are the ones I have found so far.
KB3030377
KB3032323
KB3033889
KB3034344
PrePatch
KB2919355
KB2919442
and it works fine for me now.
@ECHO OFF
pause
devcon disable =display
pause
devcon enable =display
pause
copy that into a .txt file and rename the file to a .bat
i liked to run it myself and choose when it did what so i removed the line that made it start with the computer and i don't remember it (my frend made this file for me as i have no clue what i am doing when using CMD)
but you remove the 1st and second pause it will do it automatically when running the batch file
EDIT: i don't know if its a GPU specific issue though as i had a Nvidia GTX 780ti which did it and i had it replaced but the second i got did it too i have filed a complaint with no results so far
I can't seem to find GPU, help me?
Presumably this is fixed for everybody but it felt like I was trying everything in this thread and nothing was working. What finally got rid of the problem completely? Switching to Linux. It's a bit more of a faff to get games working but once you do they run without any problems.
I was getting that same error message every time I tried to play Jedi Outcast. In Linux I've racked up some time and Kyle Katarn is off on his adventures!
Hope this is helpful.
Regards,
Gareth
However, I warn anyone that is still having this issue to avoid trying these older methods. You should try contacting {連結已移除}Nosgoth Support or checking the active troubleshoot threads.
