Cant make armor piercing quest proceed.
So, I just got the armor piercing stuff... only weapon with actual armor piercing though is the sniper rifle.

it looks like im suppose to be able to have a mech? maybe? I dont see how I'm going to be taking down a ship with just foot soldiers. guess I could just.... try...
Sniping that baby out of the sky.

but that just feels unintuitive, bad progression. Like. I'm trying to make food, researching water and farms. I dont want to raid city/human stuff. It's bad enough I have to fight the humans in order to study their water plant... kinda janky.

it says to make armor piercing you go to a combat unit and just equip it.

I dont see any armor piercing options.

So, I'm stuck now.

There should be a prismatic tungsten project that has opened up on the task stack, and it should have noted that you should be going for that. You'll be applying prismatic tungsten using consumable items to progress it.

Hope that helps!

is that the project that gives sniper rifles? if yes... i did that. if no. I've researched everything.

Oh, if you've done all the things, then open up a CombatUnit and look at the Items button on the ability bar. Click the button, choose the armor piercing rounds, and apply it three times. It's a status that is only temporarily applied, not something you get permanently for a unit usually.

You have Use Consumable Item, when you use it on a combat bot is armor-piercing rounds one of your options?

Where? how?

When your unit is selected, just hit the 3 key, or click the button that says Items, in the footer bar. You don't have to equip anything new.

For precise instructions, you should be able to hover over the quest in the upper right corner that says to apply armor piercing.

why isnt this explained better?

It should be explained better.

If you have an idea on how it can be explained better, you can file a report on the bug tracker https://bugtracker.arcengames.com/view_all_bug_page.php the information on how to do so are in a pinned thread on here

I loath reports.

Unfortunately, that's the only way things get done. Chris only has so much space in his brain to remember stuff

I will have to review it at some point to see where things were missed. But I'm pretty sure it says exactly what to do in the tooltip for the quest where it says you need to apply a 3x stack of armor piercing.

The text is:

Now that you have prismatic tungsten, you can create armor-piercing rounds. If you ever need more prismatic tungsten, steal it.
To create an item, go to the unit you wish to use that item. Click the Items ability, then click the item. That's it!

and the detailed text is:

Armor-Piercing Rounds will let you take down that SecForce Cruiser. Properly positioned, one CombatUnit can take it out in two shotgun blasts.
To do that, stack armor piercing three times on a single CombatUnit. Keep any eye on stack limits -- you'll often want to stack something if you can.
More copies of the armor piercing means you can drill through more armor. Think of it like extending a ladder upwards to 'climb over' the armor, metaphorically. The same amount of armor piercing applied to three separate units is like making three too-short ladders.

I went ahead and adjusted this:

Now that you have prismatic tungsten, you can create armor-piercing rounds. If you ever need more prismatic tungsten, steal it.
To create an item, go to the unit you wish to use that item. Click the Items ability in the footer bar, then click the item. That's it!

So it now specifies the footer bar. I also fixed the "any" typo to be "an" in the second section.
