Is a full pacifist/stealth play through possible?
Just picked up the game as I played the demo (not all the way through, just enough to get a feel for the mechanics) and watched some gameplay videos and really enjoy the concept. One thing I'm curious about is whether it will be possible to beat the game without engaging in combat at all, whether that just being the benevolent computer that makes the lives of everyone better and is therefore not a threat, or the AI that works from the shadows and hides its existence at all cost?

I'm not against the combat in the game of course, but I tend to try and go the stealthy route in games if it is possible just because it's pretty rare to even have the option. Thanks!

I think its theoretically possible, but probably not worth doing at the moment, unless your going for a challenge run. Your non-lethal options are very limited in the current version, enemies you don't neutralize can stick around the map and cause trouble, and there isn't any apparent game play difference between defeating a unit lethally or non-lethally.

However, I have yet to complete my first timeline, and my not have the full picture yet. I do hope they will make pacifist playthroughs more viable in the future.

I don't think so yet, I have several missions where it flat says this will lead to combat that don't make sense (stealing from agricultural areas).

There would be a 'steal agricultural technical registration' mission somewhere if it could be done stealth/pacifist.

thanks for the answers, hopefully it might be an option the devs might consider in the future.
It's possible throughout the prologue and chapter 1. The humans will be forbidden from dealing the killing blow to you. But you will basically just be getting camped and blown to bits over and over and over and over and over and over and over. And then when they can destroy your tower, your benevolent AI which lacks the ability to defend itself and is constantly taken advantage of by armed thugs will be put out of its misery.

Complete stealth was in the first design. Apparently everyone thought it was terribly boring, so everyone starts off aware of your existence.
Complete anonymity, no. But I think you can be a pacifist. You still need to defend yourself from attack but so long as you don't actively "murder" someone, that should count for the no murder achievements.

As to playing without killing anybody ever, including enemy soldiers that respond to your behaviour, I don't think that is possible, no.

A new unit that lets you do things like collect farming sambles without a real chance of discovery would be an interesting premis for some point at least.
