Bulk squads cannot do anything other than move, fight and provide deterrence, at least for now, which makes some squad types like Bulk Technician and Bulk Sledge rather useless, at least in the current game version.
yeah its probable its a bug, thats a shame
What may be the case is that you've never built any regular sledges. If you go to any of your android chambers, just have one of them start building sledges instead of whatever they normally build. Or if you have fewer than six chambers, just build a new one and assign that.
In the unit types screen in the inventory, you should see all the types of units you have unlocked, and new as of last night you can also sort by things like Best Scavenger, etc.
I also ran into the situation where I built bulk sledges, thinking that I would be able to use them for extraction-- and then ended up with (imho) useless bulk sledges. I ended up scrapping them before I realized there was a "recall to warehouse" order that will unlock later in the demo.
But since resources are not finite, time is the more valuable resource. It seems to always come down to which is faster (more efficient)? Buy off the defective mark, take a few turns to steal android IDs, scrap and rebuild? This decision making process is echoed with airships, but with more complexity (because maybe the resource used to manufacture airships is in limited supply early on.)
The only thing I didn't particularly like was the forced brain extraction in the demo. I wanted an alternative that didn't treat humans like disposable resources to go with the RP that I was doing up to that point.
Just bear in mind that the next mechanic after this is a giant thing that I didn't have ready for the demo yet. It's not a statement of wanting you to only have that option, but basically that's all that was ready.
Well that's cool. To be clear, I found the demo really enjoyable... and I meant the comment literally. That one thing was the only thing I didn't like. Everything else was pretty compelling and intricate. Honestly, I was a little surprised at how much I enjoyed the gameplay. It's not my normal kind of game but I was sucked in.
And yeah, no worries -- you won't be forced into doing something overly good or evil just to progress through the game. The "normal" way to get to intelligence class 3 has lots of room for good and evil in it, and is just a giant mechanic.
Anyway, thank you for the kind words!
In regards to Bulk Sledge and Salvaging, is this implemented yet and just don't know how to do it, or is this something coming later?
