Why are there no standard heatsinks?
I don't have space for doubles i need some singles. You can mix those right?

Also i really want to see alpha heat strike and a nice cooling number go with it. I assume the cooling number we got now is per second?

There is also a UI bug with it if you go over 5 cooling it will empty on the left side of the bar not sure if that is intended but i guess it works kinda dumb though.

First of all, you just can't mix different types of heatsinks. All of them must be of the same type as the ones installed in your engine. Next thing is, why the hell would you want the ancient piece of ♥♥♥♥ when you have top of the line Clan DHS?

Maybe because a single one is better than nothing if you have only on slot left on a bodypart ^^

But yeah lorelike clans would say single heatsinks are outdatet/useless ^^

Clans don't use double heatsinks mate and why would you want singles? The double heatsinks get you two heat sinks for 1 ton each. If you need more cooling there are other avenues such as getting the heat research for more heat capacity (takes longer to get to 100 heat) and cooling (heat is reduced faster) AND the research for reducing weapon heat by class. IE Pulse laser heat research reduces heat generated when you fire them. But you may wish to dedicate yourself to a particular weapon class if you go that route like I just did with my first campaign with going only with pulse lasers.

I got all my heat research done. But 5 ppc or 4 ppc+ 3 ER L are quite hot. I got multiple spots with 1 slow left and tonnage available but nothing to use it on other then more armor... This system they got is not that flexible i need more.

Its different tech from the other side of the galaxy, which is now INVADING said galaxy.

It would be like you going into the heart of China and wondering "why tf can't I read anything"

Yea i played roguetech and mercs so was thinking yea only 1 type. It as been a while since i played them.

It's lore and rules accurate. You can't change heat sink type on an OmniMech, it would have to be sent back to the factory and rebuilt. No Clan Omnis have single HS so they're not even in the game.

Because they are the most efficient and high tech version in the lore.

Because double heat sinks are the best?! Single heat sinks were phased out of clan tech long ago as they are ancient relics. The Clan was introduced to the Battletech game for a variety of reason, one of those is technological advancement.

For the same reason you do not use a rotary phone vice a cell phone.

Just for the record, it was a funny thing, but I think you could actually have had double heat sinks prototypes with single heat sinks engines (but not serial double heat sinks after they entered wide production). Though that would have been level 3 rules back in the time...

But else, right, you can't mix them in any other fashion.
