The idea behind Clans is fundamentally different from Mercs. In Mercs, you are your own entity, and you operate within a realm where the missions you complete earns you money to buy more (compatible) stuff within said realm. In Clans, you belong to an invading military organization far from home, using tech that's rather different from that of the realm you're invading.
I totally get that Clans feels like a step backwards from Mercs because it lacks the sandbox, but trying to compare the two games is comparing apples and oranges.
It’s a great story driven Mechwarrior game here is hoping that they unlock some mw5 mercs content if you own clans etc (hint hint) omnypods clan mechs weapons and research and hiring. Techs and scientists ( one can hope) it isn’t mercs but here is hoping we get another. Mercs game In the clan or dark age eras.
But it's a story driven game, replayability is 0 once you complete it, omnis aren't omnis since you can't stuff ♥♥♥♥ in however you like, limited weapons and limited improvement to our character and mech affinity. Post game has no access to IS travel and missions. The coop for these bogass missions are meh at best, customizaiton level is worse than basegame mw5m. Good acting, good VA, story was boring as hell but according to the nerds i hangout with, it's accurate. worth about 40usd
