Horrific line delivery.
Bad writing that makes people seem incredibly incompetent.
Case in point - Catch all writing with the stealth mission. I had a mech with no jump jets and the commander who specifically sent me here didn't bother knowing my load out?
Also... the COMSTAR lady delivers her lines so badly it comes across as she is painfully obvious she is hiding stuff from you. I don't think the devs were trying to make it that obvious.
And yeah.... Main Character is emo and looks like someone from a late 90's early 2000's boy band.
Yeah the voice acting of the main cast is so....bland if not straight up terrible. The in-mission lines delivery are void of any personality. Compared to similar mission based-games like Project Wingman/Ace Combat.
i'm pretty sure you will have 5 waves (haven't finished it yet)
but first was santanders world (ckeck)
second was turtle bay (check)
and on third we are at courchevel (check)
so i think luthin and tukayyid are next, and those were battles, where the clans were beaten so hard, they agreed to a 15 year cease fire
so in book terms, those were some pretty epic battles and at the time i couldn't stop reading (yes i'm old enough to have read those books back then)
mechwarrior mercenaries 2 also had the battles of luthien and tukayyid and those were pretty neat back then when that game released.
Pretty neat background. Yeah I could see the background lore is pretty intricate with a lot of depth but hearing it in these cutscenes and narrations just doesn't give it justice.
It got better towards the end. This series of events, is per 30+ year old battle tech history.
its accurate... however that 1st act was bad.... thankfully you can skip cutscenes
LARP hahah yeah that's a good way to describe the cringe.
They remind me of Sid from Toy Story 1
